Naked and hungry that is what you would be without agriculture. Have you ever thought about where your food, and clothes come from? Someone, somewhere gets up with the sun to feed you and clothe you. There are 5,977 farms in conniecuit in accordance to agclassroom.org, and our population is a booming 3,590,000 now, if you do that math, one in every six hundred people in this state would be a farmer, annually those few farmers are adding 4.6 million dollars to the state economy each year, imagine how much we could benefit our economy just by education more citizens on farming. It is imporant to understand that agriculture is such a broad area of education, and this is why in 1988 Future Farmers of America changed their name to FFA because FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as, but not limited to, teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners, as described on ffa.org When you here arigulture your mind thinks, animals and plants, but it is not limited to just that, there is also classes that educated the youth on how to fix macheriery, on how to make maple suryp, on bussiness management, and even on foestry. By making it a requirement for our high school students to take classes in agricultural fields, whether it be livestock, horticulture (the science of growing crops) or macherey, we provide our youth to be more qualified for careers rather than jobs.
