Air Pollution Is Caused By Humans

Air pollution is caused by humans. Smog and ozone layer depletion are two major causes. They are both toxics in the air that humans create and toxics that effect humans as well. Smog is caused by so many different chemicals that ranges from things like automobile exhaust to hairspray. It affects humans mainly in the circulatory and respiratory systems which are both very important and crucial to survive. Ozone layer depletion is a very serious decline of gas in the ozone layer which is bad because the less ozone we have surrounding us, the more ultraviolet rays can reach us. Those UV rays are harmful to us and cause skin cancer and the rates of that happening to people are increasing as the years go on and the ozone layer decreases. Smog is a major cause of air pollution and humans are the ones who are causing it. Smog is produced from many different things. The atmospheric pollutants or gases that form smog are released in the air when fuels are burnt. When sunlight and its heat react with these gases and fine particles in the atmosphere, smog is formed. It’s usually a yellowish or blackish fog that consists of fine particles and ground level ozone. Smog occurrences are linked to many things such as heavy traffic, high temperatures, automobile exhaust, power plants and factories. It is surprisingly also caused by many consumer products such as hairspray, charcoal starter fluid, chemical solvents and plastic popcorn packaging. Although it is humans who are causing the smog it is humans who are being affected with major health issues. Smog is very harmful to both the respiratory and circulatory system. It can irritate many parts of the body and when it is inhaled it can dry out and inflame the protective membranes of the nose and throat. It aggravates heart problems, bronchitis, asthma and other lung problems. The human body has difficulty defending itself against the harms of smog. It can cause illnesses such as colds and pneumonia.
