Since the tragedy of September 11, 2001 many changes have occurred in both the private and the government sector. Without a doubt the most changed and affected was the aviation industry especially when it comes to security. For example before 9/11 a person could expect to arrive at an airport 20 or 30 minutes before his or her flight and still make it on time, Now you must be there at least Three hours before, in order to have enough time to go thru all the new security measures and being able to make your flight. Security measures had to change after 9/11

Before September 11, 2001 You only had to show ID when you were checking in. Only two questions were asked: Did you pack your own bags? and Have your bags been seen outside your control? You could bring sharp objects on the plane like, pen knives, box cutters, and sharp scissors. All you had to do was arrive minutes before the flight and you wouldn't have to rush to get on. Family or friends could accompany you to the gate and say good- bye. You could also keep your shoes on and who ever was inspecting you didn’t care if you had a 12once bottle of coke of shampoo in your bag. All though some changes were being made in order to make the airports a safer place back then it was nothing like today.
