I, Bin Yang, like all the other 10,000 soldiers camped along side me in the bitter cold of winter, could not get any sleep. We were all too anxious for the battle that was to take place when the sun arose. Just before the dawn broke, the camp was in dismay. There was a rush to prepare for battle, as the enemy was approaching quickly. With the enemy mere minutes away, the scramble to prepare was complete.…

I, Captain Torres, who believes that our country should have better conditions, am here to bring out a new revolution! You people, who oppose us, definitely did not think it through! Have you ever thought about your living conditions? Wouldn’t you want to improve it? Or make it a better place for all of us to live in? Look at yourself and look at people around you! Don’t you people see what’s going on in our country? Do any of you even have the mood to just smile for one second? Eight years ago, November 18, 1968, in Turkey, Richard Moses, the leader of the Turkish people in a town, brought out a revolution! It was a total success! You stupid people didn’t know about it, did you? Every single person in Turkey cheered for the dramatic change! They received good food, decent wages, ethical living conditions, and millions more! Don’t you want any of those fantastic conditions? Take some time to think about your stupid actions stopping us! Think precisely! This is actually not only for our advantages, but also for the good of everyone single person here in this town! I command all of you to listen to me and support me! You will be living in broken houses, wearing torn clothes and barely having any food supplies! So, stop complaining about foolish people. Now, do not waste my precious time! Let’s get out of here! Let’s leave all these foolish people here and get on our way to the new revolution! Let’s go, I said…

Prison experiences are shared by those who spent much time behind the bars and most of the experiences shared exemplify how cruel the prison system really was showing that no rehabilitation was occurring due to an excess in punishment. The Los Angeles Times published an article, “Cruel and Usual Punishment in Jails and Prisons,” in which ex-prisoners were interviewed and shared stories of their time in prison, many of which showed how corrupt prisons have truly become. The stories described prisons as appalling and cruel, one prisoner describe being handcuffed every day to his bunk while he had to remain only in his underwear, another prisoner described how it was to live in a cell located directly under broken toilet pipes for weeks resulting…

I just happen to take look at my schedule again and I noticed that the class that I'm actually waiting for is my second class. At this point I'm very upset with myself because I asked for the wrong class. So I walked reluctantly back to the housing office hoping that they would help me again. As I walked back I'm thinking to myself "I hope they're not too busy to help me". When I get back into the office luckily it was a different person there so I ask them were this building was. She told me but she was very unclear and I wasn't sure what she was talking about. Her almost exact statement was "It's near the gym". I wasn't sure if the gym had rooms in it or what. So as I go toward the gym and a guy asks me where a class was, I say with a confused look on my face "I don't know" so he asked somebody else and they helped him out. At one point it sounded like we had the same class so I followed him. This class was actually in the gym, so I stood there for a while and I overheard somebody saying that it was an aerobics class so I left in search of my class yet…

Today started like any other day. Mom came in and woke me up. I was still groggy like an old person waking up from a deep sleep. My mom laid out my clothes last night. She takes care of me like a king takes care of his people. I do not know what I would be without her.Once I got dressed and mom helped me put my shoes on. We walked downstairs and Lindsey and Shannon, my sisters, were getting ready for school. I walked downstairs to the first floor and saw my dad leaving. I ran to him to give him a good bye hug. Then I had breakfast. I am pretty sure that it was scrambled eggs with ketchup. My life is as hectic as an exterminator during an infestation. Or so I thought.…

Only 2 tedious hours of school and I could go home and lay in my queen size bed with my body sized pillow because today was just not my day. As i walk into Mr. Schwantes class I see an egg, a cup filled with water, and toilet paper roll. I know right then and there we are doing a really fun activity. Mr. Schwantes was always a fun teacher. He was very helpful as well. I could always count on him to cheer me up. I take a seat and read the board and do what it says. “ Good morning boys and girls!!” Mr. Schwantes says as he walks in the room, “ We will be doing an experiment today. Please move all of your stuff to the back counter when you are done with your blog.” As i stand up to go put my folder and notebook on the back counter I start feeling a little light headed. What was wrong with me? My stomach aches and i'm really dizzy. After standing there for about 20 seconds i feel fine again. I place my items on the back counter and take my seat, I just couldn't get the fact that the big game was tonight and i didn't feel good out of my head. “Are you okay Kierra,” Mr. Schwantes asks, “You look a little…
