Al Wonderlic Case Analysis
Al Wonderlic is the creator of the infamous wonderlic test. He created this test so employers could evaluate prospective job applicants. This test measures a person’s general intelligence. Now Charlie Wonderlic runs the company in Illinois. He sits behind the same desks his grandfather did 7 decades ago. Charlie’s Wonderlic grandparents published the test in their basement. In the 1960, they opened up an office and people throughout the world began being assed with the test. The wonderlic test annually produces the current version of Charlie’s grandfather‘s exam in 14 languages for 7,000 business and a half of a million people worldwide that includes roughly 300 players at the NFL. Test takers have 12 minutes to answer 50 questions each worth 1 point on a variety of subjects. Before each NFL player shows his talent on the field, he shows it on the …show more content…
This test can be useful to coaches and owners of the team. It helps them pick players base off of their scores. Not every player that takes the test remembers the parameters accurately. In the video, some players describe the test as long and repeative. The question often associated with this is “why”. The test is not repeative in reality. Some players also said the test had common sense questions on it. The wonderlic is also a stable of draft preparation for every team coaches and players make it clear they do not consider it the be-all and end of player evaluation. A coach in the video said that he have seen players with low scores be tremendous players. He also said that he has seen players not be able to function at all.
