“I like children, they are tasty(Fish)”. Albert was a serial killer. A serial killer is someone who has committed multiple murders. It takes a lot to be a cannibal and Fish was one of them. Cannibal is the act or practice of humans eating the flesh or internal organs of other human beings(Maria). Albert Fish’s crazy life included his childhood, into adulthood as a serial killer, and his death
Albert Fish’s life was all crazy, but it started in his childhood. Albert was born in Washington, DC on May 19, 1870. Fish was the youngest child and had three living siblings: Walter, Annie, and Edwin. He was baptized Hamilton Fish but went by Albert which was his dead brother. When Albert was born, his father, Randall Fish, was 75, and his …show more content…
mother, Ellen Fish, was 32. His first 10 years of life he spent his life in an orphanage. When he was 10, his mom came back and got him out of the orphanage to take him home. At the age of 12, his dark side was starting to show because of his secret relationship with a telegraph boy. The boy introduced him to all the unusual sex dealing with poop. This is where he finally decided that he wanted more and more of things, including assaulting little boys(Steve Casale).
Adulthood was the craziest phase of his life. Fish moved to New York at the age of 20 and became a prostitute. In his free time, he would sexually assault young boys. After his wife had left him for finding out what all he liked to do, he would stab himself in the abdomen with Baker 2 many needles and a nail stubbed paddle. He dated a 19 year old boy, Thomas Keeden, in New York, but knew it was not going to work, so he took Thomas to the barn in order to torture him. He tortured him by cutting off half of his penis(Steven Casale). On some of his victims, he would lick the bones clean. He loved to feel pain, so he would stuff wool drenched in lighter fluid in his anus and set it on fire. He would serve raw meat to his children to try and make them have a taste for raw things(Danielle Tarasiuk). People started giving Fish nicknames, including the grey man, the werewolf of Wysteria, and the Brooklyn Vampire. He molested over 100 children and was suspected of five killings. He confessed of three killings out of the five. The mother of Bill Gaffney came to the jail cell to ask Albert what he did to her son. He told her that he made stew out of his belly, ears, nose, and the face. He also made a roast out of Billy’s butt cheeks and would drink his blood after chopping his body into many little pieces. While he was in jail, he got X-rays of his pelvis and it showed that he inserted needles into his skin for sexual
Baker 3 pleasure(Jamie Frater).
He would travel state to state, leaving trails of victims. Fish married 4 different women, but never divorced the last before going to the next. He was arrested eight times over the years serving time for grand larceny, passing bad checks, and violating parole or probation. He had children in every state he had traveled to. Sadly a young girl, Grace Budd, was one of his victims. He was arrested after a six year hunt for the murder of Grace(Maria). He worked as a handyman and a painter, but made the neighborhood children beat him with a paddle that had 1’½” nails attached to it. He was released and was judged for “disturbed but sane(Troy Taylor).”
His death was one death that should've have been sooner in sake of the people that got hurt or murdered.
He remains the oldest man to have ever been executed in the electric chair. He blames his own children for his crimes. Before he got placed into the electric chair, he sent out letters to all the parents of his victims describing what all he did with each and every one of them. His execution date was January 16, 1936 by the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison in New York. When the lever was pulled on the electric chair, it then puts three thousand volts into his body, but then short circuited because of the needles Albert placed in his pelvis. They had to put another jolt of three thousand volts into his body and that is when he was pronounced dead(Troy Taylor).
