Albrecht Durer's Draftsman Drawing A Female Nude

In Albrecht Durer’s, Draftsman Drawing a Female Nude, I can see the feminist point of view in regards to the art piece. Albrecht Durer was a German artist who traveled to Italy and studied the Italian artists and from which he brought back the ideals of the Renaissance to his native country (Sayre, 2016). I find it interesting that the woman is lying down in the nude, exposed, and by her facial expression, that of her head turned and eyes closed, I believe she is not doing this because she wants to. She appears to look submissive to the man. Her hand is clearly close to her female genitals with her hand and fingers spread apart, almost as if she may be masturbating. The man opposite of her is in an upright position with an erect statue
