“This is an area of London where rooftop extensions are not commonplace and we’re delighted that our design convinced the committee that bold transformations of rooflines, which are designed with sensitivity and conviction, are a viable option,” stated Dan Burr, Partner at Sheppard Robson (Figure 04). 7.2.1. Structure design
The structure of rooftop extension of 1010 building designed and executed with durable elements. First, The Skin of the roofs was done with big Alucobond elements in fire protection category A2. It is directly shaped and fixed on/next to the roof. Perfect process without any tolerance according to the size of the elements and without logistic problems in the historical city of Vienna. Moreover, aluminum does not need protection against corrosion. The other material that used in this building is Silent Gliss which is an innovative and appropriate material.
