1. What do the brothers’ breakfast likes and dislikes symbolize?
Answer:
They like eating chocolate cake for breakfast. Soda always bakes one the night before so that they can eat it in the morning. It symbolizes their age because usually adults wouldn’t do that.

2. Both Ponyboy and Two-Bit admit that the gang couldn’t get along without Johnny. Two-Bit goes so far as to say that he wishes that anyone else were in the hospital rather than Johnny. Why do you think they feel this way?
Answer:
They feel this way because Johnny was the one that held the gang together. Everyone loved Johnny and always looked out for him. That’s why they felt this way.

3. Ponyboy questions his pride in being a greaser. Why does he do this?
Answer:
He does this because he hates that the socs and the greasers are always fighting and he wishes that they could all just get along. Or because people always look at them and judge them for being greasers , they always think they are criminals and get into trouble

4. Why is it significant that Darry calls Ponyboy “little buddy” at the end of Chapter 11?
Answer:
I believe that Darry calls Ponyboy the morning after he has finally returned home from Windrixville. The previous night, when Darry and Soda came to pick up Pony from the hospital, Pony realised that Darry didn't hate him, that he just worries.
Pony is so used to having Darry act kind of cold towards him, that it's a bit of a shock to him to have Darry use a term of endearment that he usually reserves for Soda. I believe that Pony actually tells the reader that Darry has only ever called Soda 'little buddy' before.
