Alfred Lord Tennyson's The Charge Of The Light Brigade

The poem talks about a British brigade consisting of 600 men, with only horses and swords. They charge a Russian unit knowing that this mission might be their last. Alfred lord Tennyson’s “The Charge of the Light brigade “shows warfare as a whole, but is best seen in the third stanza. When the poet Alfred lord Tennyson speaks this he goes into great detail and depth wrapping the word with various meanings. The main theme in the all of the lines is death. Line 20 shows that there being shot at, and there being gunned down symbolizing if not yet known, the battle has started. Their being shot at and the soldiers are being killed by the bullets and cannons. Line 22 shows that besides the cannons there being shot with guns and there overwhelmed, he does not just show what’s happening but he also informs the reader that this battle is suicide and there being killed. That’s what happened! If that’s not enough evidence line 24 says “Into the jaws of death. If not clear enough Alfred lord Tennyson shows that when going into the battle there walking into death with the guns and all that was stated above.Thats why one of the many main themes is death.
