I. Background
Ali Mall is the first fully enclosed shopping mall in the Philippines. Named after famed boxing champion Muhammad Ali, it has a total area of over 62,000 square meters and houses four levels of specialty shops, entertainment outlets, designer boutiques, six cinemas, parking, and a food gallery.
It belongs to the Araneta Group of Companies, a progressive and diversified group of companies anchored on food, leisure, and property development. II. The Araneta Group of Companies
Araneta Center, Inc. (ACI) is the owner, developer and manager of the Araneta Center, a 35-hectare retail business and entertainment complex located in Metro Manila. The Araneta Center is currently being redeveloped into a mixed-use area that will integrate residential and office buildings to a redeveloped shopping and entertainment complex. The Araneta Redevelopment Master Plan envisions an information technology friendly environment that is ready for the challenges of the 21st Century.
ACI owns and operates several properties within the Araneta Center. New Farmers Plaza, Farmer’s Market, the newly opened Gateway Mall, Value Station, Aurora Tower, Bus Terminal, and the Shopwise Arcade. The Center also has other anchors like SM Department Store, Shopwise, and Rustan’s Superstore.
United Promotions, Inc. (Uniprom) manages the leisure and entertainment interests of the Araneta Group.
