Alice Walker Is a African American who is the eighth and youngest child of Minnie Talulah and Willie Lee. In Alice years of being a child she became blind in her right eye from being scarred with a BB gun by her brother Bill. After Alice transfer to Sarah Lawrence college in New York, she continue to study her involvement in Civil Rights. Two years later after Alice received her B.A degree from Sarah Lawrence in 1965, she became married to Melvyn Roseman Leventhal. They lived in Jackson Mississippi , where Alice work as a black history consultant for a head start program. Walker also work as the writer-in-resident for JacksonState college and Tougaloo college.
