Alkaline Water Filter
Best Alkaline Water Filter Method

There exist numerous ways to keep a healthy life. One of such ways which has constantly evaded the knowledge of most people is the necessity of drinking alkaline water. It has been neglected over time due to the stereotype that it takes very difficult methods to make. That is not the case as there has evolved simple and home based ways to go about this very important aspect of human healthy living. However, I will be giving brief but cogent importance of drinking alkaline waters. They include the reduction of the body acidity, which by extension helps in weight loss, as well as other alternative ways of detoxification of the body. Having said these, I will be going forward to the best and simplest method of

Afterwards, the baking soda is added to the water and the jug is covered in an air tight manner. This is very important since it prevents the water from pouring away when the shaking of the jug is going on. Care is to be taken so that the water in the glass jug is not field to the brim, so as to ensure a robust mixing of the water and soda. When all these are achieved, the PH strip which can be purchased anywhere that pool equipment is being sold will be used to test for the alkaline level of the water. The idea is to allow the alkaline level reach at least 8.5 to 9.0. At this stage, it is likely that the desired alkaline level has not been reached; this will mean that the soda will be added again and the whole procedure repeated again so as to reach the desired PH level.

While carrying out these experiments, we are advised to keep tabs of the number of spoons of soda that has been added into the jug of water so as to make the procedure easier. If at this stage the water is tested with the PH strip and the desired PH level is reached, then the water is ready to be served. However, it is important that the jug should be shook vigorously before serving. This happens to be the easiest and most handy method to make alkaline water, and thus achieve less acidity and reduced toxicity in the body

In this experiment the student will need a Bunsen burner, ring stand, wire gauze, pH meter, red cabbage, about seven small beakers (clean), seven test tubes, universal pH paper, both red and blue litmus paper, methyl red and several solutions provided by the instructor. First the student will prepare the red cabbage by filling a beaker with 50 mL of distilled water and placing about 1 gram of finely chopped red cabbage and boil for 10 minuets. Let the beaker cool and decant the solution from the cabbage. While the cabbage is boiling the student should continue with the rest of the experiment, pour about 2 mL into the beaker and test the pH with the pH meter, litmus papers, and universal pH paper and record. Pour half of the solution into a test tube and set aside. With the sample in the beaker add 2 drops of methyl red and record. With the solution in the test tube add a dropper full of the cabbage indicator and record. The student must do these steps with all of the solution provided for in this experiment.…

Objective: This lab focuses on the detection of ions using titration as an analysis tool. You will standardize NaOH and HCl solutions so that you know the exact concentration and then prepare samples of common household items in order to determine the amount of calcium in Tang®, Mg(OH)2 in Milk of Magnesia, etc. You will learn to prepare samples of a specified concentration, learn about acids and bases through the use of titrations and learn how to detect endpoints using different indicators. You will become adept at measuring pH with both a pH meter and indicator paper. You will then conduct quality control testers and determine if the label on a bottle of over-the-counter product actually contains the percentage of compound that it advertises.…

An eighteen-year-old named Kai Kloepfer has invented a gun recognition system that has the potential to save lives. This invention, which he has named the “smart gun,” will only fire when it recognizes the fingerprint of the person pulling the trigger. The idea is to make a dangerous weapon like a gun less dangerous by only allowing it to be fired in the hands of someone responsible.…

To further test our prediction, we looked at the pH effects of sodium chloride in relations to the addition of 0.5 M of NaOH base. Before adding the base, the pH of NaCl was checked to look at the whether or not the pH would change after the addition of a NaOH. The pH of NaCl prior to adding base was 7.50. After the 5 drops of 0.5 NaOH, the pH increased to 10.90 on the pH scale. The difference in total pH change from the…

In this experiment, a reaction between the acidic household cleaners and a standardized basic solution was used for the titration. In order to obtain standardization of the basic solution (NaOH), a specific volume of the substance was measured and diluted to an approximate concentration; the concentration of this resulting solution was then verified using titrations. Once the standardized NaOH solution was obtained, the household cleaner was first treated with a pH indicator (phenolphthalein) so that the equivalence point, the instant where exactly enough standard solution has been added to the titrand so that their molar concentrations are equal, could be seen. The equivalence point in the titrations conducted was equal to the end point, the instance at which the pH indicator changes color, which allowed the exact point of equivalence to be reached based on physical observation of the titrand. After the indicator had been added to the household cleaner being titrated, the titration was performed and the volume of NaOH required to reach the equivalence/end point was noted; the titration was then repeated twice more to ensure accuracy and precision. To determine the concentration of the household cleaner, first the volume of NaOH used to reach the equivalence point was…

For the firsts three sets of titration trials of baking soda powder was used. About 0.3 grams of baking soda powder were measured and mixed with 20mL of deionized water in a beaker. Three drops of the indicator bromothymol blue were put in the baking soda solution and mixed well. A burette and funnel were rinsed off using water and cleaned well. The burette and funnel were rinsed a second time using 5mL of the HCl solution that was prepared the previous week and disposed of in a clean beaker. The rest of the HCl solution was then put in the burette. The beaker containing the baking soda solution was placed under the burette. 1mL of the HCl solution was released at a time into the beaker with the baking soda until a change was observed. The results were recorded. The process was repeated three more times and the results were recorded. For the second sets of titration trails, fresh squeezed lemon juice was used. 5mL of lemon juice were used and three drops of the indicator phenolphthalein were put in the juice. The burette was then rinsed off with water and rinsed off a second time using NaOH and disposed of in a clean beaker. The rest of the NaOH solution was put in the burette and the beaker containing the lemon juice was placed under the burette. 1mL of the NaOH solution were released at a time into the beaker containing the lemon juice until changes were observed. The results were…
