In his article, Van Maanen described how police officers classify citizens into three categories-suspicious persons, assholes, and know nothings-to quickly get control of the situation and do their job more efficiently (Van Maanen, 1978, p. 147). They created these unauthorized classifications based on preconceived notions and past incidents. It has led to what has been perceived as more encounters with the asshole. Some people have most likely been labelled assholes because they only verbally insulted the police or acted in any way that the police believes does not recognize his/her authority (Van Maanen, 1978, p. 152). These perceptions have had a negative impact on the relationship between police and the people that they must police. Citizens…

Some universities that offer the programs are Florida State and Marquette. Some advantages of going to these schools are that they have sport teams and they have very little English requirements, and they have great reputations. Disadvantages of going to the schools is that they are large schools and does not give much help if you are in need of it, also they are both very expensive over 30 thousand a year. At Florida State over 60% of your courses you take are related to engineering ranging from thermodynamics and thermo fluids to learning the basics of engineering. You also are suggested to take physics along with calculus III. Marquette university is about the same thing they want you to take 70% engineer related course but with the courses they want you to take is a range of materials how stuff works type of engineering. They also want you to take a philosophy course and a lot more electives.…

It often has been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If someone were to look up beauty in the dictionary, they would read this: beauty is a characteristic of a person, animal, place, object, or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning, or satisfaction. In other words, beauty is anything that is pleasing to the eye. Today’s society teaches that the way to beauty is to become rich and successful, only worrying about oneself, but is that true beauty? Is true beauty not giving oneself up for another? True beauty comes when someone cares about others that cannot return that care. Jean Vanier embodies true beauty because he gave up a rich, easy lifestyle to invest himself into and live with people who could not offer him anything in return.…

School only collects information that is used for a specific purpose, i.e. the children’s address and parent/carer contact information. School also holds files containing staff details and training courses attended etc, which are again kept electronically with a password protection. The school ensures the information they require is relevant and accurate and they ensure the information is kept up to date, by sending letters out to parent/carers to remind them to update information since the last academic year. The information is kept for the duration the child is in attendance at the school and after which they will delete the files containing the personal data and shred any paper documents.…
