The life lesson that I have learned is that you can impact somebodies life greatly just with a simple act of kindness. In chapter three Leo invites over two orphans that do not have a family and nothing in their life has ever gone right. Leo introduces the orphans to a couple of people that Leo is friends with. It just so happens that the orphans and everybody at the party became friends for life that night.…

We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of person-kind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely -Leo Buscaglia.” This quote is very special because I relate to this by giving those people gifts that were unexpected creates joy for them, when they get it so it brings hope to other people when they see kindness in this world happening right in front of them, because in the modern world there isn’t that much kindness.…

Learning How to Write and Read by Frederick Douglas essay, is base on this little boy (Douglas) who was born slave. On his essay Douglas describes, how he teach himself in many ways how to read and write by stealing newspapers, copying his master handwriting, trading food for books with the poor street boys whom became his teachers. He talks about how wonderful nice and kind his mistress was at the beginning and how she started teaching him the alphabet an how she stops when her husband forbade her to instruct him because it was unlawful and unsafe to teach a slave how to read. Douglas mention on the essay the words he heard from his master telling to his mistress “…if you give a nigger and inch they will take the ell” (chapter VI)…
In the words of Benjamin Franklin, there are “no gains without pains.” Likewise was his bold yet daring task to achieve the impossible, which is moral perfection. Stokely Carmichael focuses on not only black power but the internal logic of why he was giving it. The internal logic of poor and rich, non-violence and violence, black and white, freedom and integration, and moral and political. Poor and rich is the basis of social hierarchies. Social hierarchies is merely the power or privilege that attaches to you by your social position or status. It is applicable to all of society which characterizes the culture of the United States. Poverty is poorness which is defined by what it does not include, having money, rather than what it does include. Stokely Carmichael begins in his speech with poor instead of rich and then defines it by what it is not, “A man is poor for one reason and one reason only- he does not have money. If you want to get rid of poverty, you give people money.” It’s a clear way to rid of poverty, exactly how he stated “you give people money,” (Carmichael).…
The two persuasive essays called “Doing Nothing is something” by Anna Quindlen and “Kids Really Aren’t Overscheduled” by Salynn Boyle are trying to persuade the reader to believe their point of view of the idea that kids have “too much to do.”Anna Qindlen thinks that kids have too much to do and when you’re doin nothing, you actually at your best. She thinks that when someone is “bored to death” that creativity and ingenuity are in the peak of action. On the other hand, Salynn Boyle says that we don’t have too much to do. She says that playing sports and other activities keep kids out of trouble and it usually benefits them in a way that nothing else will. I would agree more with Salynn Boyle because kids should do more and it keeps them off the streets selling dope or boosting cars. Going out and doing something teaches the kid…

When faced with a challenge, it is easy to fold under the pressure, but taking the more difficult path is often more rewarding. I firmly believe that the best lessons are the ones that do not come easy. The errors that we make leave a lasting impression on our hearts, and in an attempt to avoid the desolate feeling of failing again, we must adapt the way we live. Effectively, we teach ourselves a better way. I intentionally use some vague language because I think resiliency…
