Abstract:
In this modern age, floor polishes were made from synthetic materials. The researcher decided to put back the floor polish of the old days that was made from natural materials. The researcher chooses banana peelings and aloe Vera as components of the polish. But first, the researcher must find out if the product was an effective as commercial polish and if it can be used for different surfaces so the researcher conducted an experiment.
The researcher scraped the inner portion of banana peelings and boiled for four hours, extracted the Aloe Vera gel and blended to obtain a smooth gel. To perform the experiment, the researcher used 3:4 ratios of Aloe Vera gel and banana peelings then added 1:2 ratios of used cooking oil and gin.
Nine people were asked to fill an evaluation paper about the product based from texture, luster, and odor it gives. All of them agreed that the product gave the same and even better results as the commercial polish. The panelists also agreed that the product was best used for concrete surfaces. The ratios did on the experiment was effective.
The researcher therefore concluded that the Floor Polish Made from Banana peelings, Aloe Vera and used cooking oil was effective as commercial polishes. The product did not contain harmful chemicals so it was environmental friendly, safer and cheaper.
