Alone At Last!
I am an outgoing person by nature but there are times in everyone's life when privacy is of great importance.

One such time is when you have several assignments to submit and so limited time to reach the duedate. The last thing you want is a visit from your very own disgusting cousins.

It was Saturday morning. A soft splatting sound could be heard as the early rain kissed the rooftop. The day well enough until a noisy car pulled up in my driveway. Exiting the car were my most unwelcomed guests --- my cousins. Everything was going good before they turned up. I was beginning to do my best in school, interacting with friends and teachers. Finally I was getting out of my "shell" and exceeding seventy percent. I just could not think nor do things correctly with them arround me. They were playing loud music, singing at the top of their voices, playing games and they were always doing weird things to distract me when i was busy doing something constructive. During that period I saw my books only in school and my grades plunged from average to bad.

As the days slowly passed by, same things were repeated. I longed for them to go but Marcy, one of my cousins, said "We're staying for atleast two weeks more. Won't that be fun, Mia?" "Yeah, right" I felt like the world was spinning with me. Finally, when the two weeks were up, my mother called my aunt and made the arrangements for my cousin's departure. When I heard about that, I was the happiest person in the house. But I didn't want to show much of that attitude because I didn't want them to feel hurt. The day they left was a jolly day for me because I manages to study and my grades were again flying and I could afford to lift my head in pride.I hope noone wont get me wrong, because I do love my cousins, it is just that their timing was very bad. I really do enjoy their company but only during holidays. Their visit was untimely but, thank God ... I'm alone at

For me being so far from home was such a challenge being that Usually I with either my parents or brothers, so when I was away from my family I was home sick while I was there. I would call my family several times throughout the day while I was away from home. I was not able to enjoy myself while I was in Maryland because I could only reflect about being back with my family. I did not like my experience so much that would find simple issues to be upset about, such as the music played on the vans or how fast they would drive the vans going to field trips.…

All throughout school I strived to be a great student, always trying my best and never giving up. That year everything changed for me I was faced with challenges I never had to face before. My brother and I are three in a half years apart and he went to Horizon High School for his freshman and sophomore year. He was a troublemaker to say the least didn’t have the best reputation so all the teachers there thought that I was just like him. When I started there no one really knew my name and then once they saw my last name they started to be rude to me and say rude things to me. We had to say our last goodbye to our little house we had lived in our whole lives. When we were leaving, my family and relatives were at the house saying their goodbyes and giving hugs. “Do we really have to leave everyone and move, mom?” I asked. “Your dad and I have agreed that it will be a good move for the family, now stop complaining about it.” she told me. The only thing I wanted to do that day was stay in our old house and cry because I didn’t want to leave my family at all, I was really dreading moving to Florida. When we headed off on the roads I was still upset about the move, but my parents kept telling me it will be okay but that didn’t help me feel any…

We were so happy, I started explaining to her where we were, how the place looked like and that there was a big garbage can, as I explain tears dripped from my eyes. We hugged each other, cried, and stayed put right next to the garbage can. We finally saw my mother’s silver BMW car. We slowly walked towards the car, making sure that it was my mother or one of our parents are in there. I then saw my mother did something with her hand, I know what that meant to hurry up, I told my little cousins to hurry up and get in the car, we ran as fast as we could towards the car and got in. Since then my little cousins and I learned a very big and important lesson that we will never forget, it to your pacings with your family, close and to tell them that you need a break if you are losing your…

Furthermore, after hearing that I would get to live with my parents in America, I could not imagine how happy I felt that day. In all that came a dilemma, since an under age child can not travel by himself I needed a guardian to go with me. My aunt solved the problem when she called my grandparents and told them that she would take me with her to the US. Since I did not know my aunt and had never met her before it made an awkward situation for me to go with her, but my grandparents explained, “That she does not live in India, she came from the USA to visit her family in India and now she is heading back, so she is offered to take you with her.” The following week we departed for America. At first it felt kind of hard for me to abandon the place where my life began, but i for my own welfare I got to go to America for a better lifestyle.…

    A Place Analysis

I was raised in a small, but familiar town on the outskirts of Tallahassee known as Havana. A place where everyone practically knows everyone that lives there. My hometown upholds a sense of charm and southern hospitably in the atmosphere, with the many boutiques and restaurants for one to enjoy. However, I feel that it is a place where more mature individuals could appreciate (like adults), due to its historical nature. To be honest, other than going to school with my friends, as a child there really wasn’t much for me to do when the summer rolled in. Especially, since I was the only girl in a house with two brothers. In fact, majority of my summer vacation was spent at home, with my annoying brothers, “The Terrible Two”. Well, at least that’s what I called them, because they were always finding a way to make fun out of torturing me. From being hit by water balloons unexpectedly, to waking with burning lips from the hot sauce they put on them while I was sleeping, pretty much describes the “summer” moments of my childhood; at least the ones spent with brothers. Until, I suddenly had an epiphany, and begged my mother to let me stay with my grandmother while I school wasn’t in; or at least until she made it home from work. Of course she asked why; although she knew how much my brothers would tease me. She just told me it was there way of showing “brotherly” love, but she understood how annoying it could be, because she too was raised among all boys; in which worked out in my favor, because I no longer spent the summer’s home. She accepted my plea to be free from the “Terrible Two,” and Grandma’s house was to be my new location for summer vacation, which I enjoyed every bit of.…
