Alternate Ending
The End
There she was sitting at the edge of her bed all day, her eyes gazing into a profound pit of nothingness. Everyday was the same for the 16 year old. Nothing was important to her. Recollections and contemplations overflowed her brain. The dark nights filled with horrendous nightmares, nightmares packed with fears.
Her family spent every day worrying, it was such a change, she used to be such a happy, lively and outgoing girl. Once in a while they would look in on her and watch as her empty eyes traveled towards them. No words, just empty, stares upon them. All they want is for her to be happy, for to be like everyone else her age. Laughter once filled their ears, but now it’s just miserable silence. Smiles once filled their dreams,

Only she could see what was waiting for her. Slowly but surely her plan would fall into place.
Every night before she goes to sleep, she hears her little sister crying. Wishing she would get better. She prayed her sister would get over this. They would fight over the smallest things. She regrets every mean word that slipped out her mouth. She didn’t mean any of it. She loved her just failed to show it. She wanted another chance, to make everything right, but it’s too late.
Days past and everyone acted as if nothing happened, but something did happen. She lost everything. That day that everything ended. She could only remember to well. Laughter filled the air as she tore apart the pink wrapping paper. A small present for her 17th birthday. As the teared apart the paper a silver glow appeared. The metallic present jingles as she lifted it. Car keys. Cheers filled the living room. She ran to the front door to find a beautiful white Fiat 500. The lights flashed as she unlocked it. That’s when she made the life changing decision, to take it out with her friends. They decided to take it for a drive and show it off to all the other girls at school. There was laughter and chatter in the car and music played from the

Suddenly a red light showed but she she couldn’t slow down. She tooted the horn and flashed the lights to get the other cars out the way but it was too late. She tried her hardest to swerve past the car but she only made it worst. She went straight into a wall.
“Ambulance please and hurry its really serious I don’t think they will survive!”
“Becca help us, help us.” Lights flashed and sirens wale. Men in bright jackets were talking to each other through walkie-talkies. “Two people pronounced dead on the scene and once regaining consciousness” The voice from the little black box echoed in her head. So many thoughts entered his head. What happened? Why am I here? That’s when she had realized what she had done. She had killed her friends.
She spent the next few weeks in the hospital. She tried her hardest to give up and stop fighting but the doctors were so good and did everything they could no matter how hard she tried. She couldn’t deal with what she had done. The guilt was too much, she couldn’t find away out of it. The whole accident kept replaying in her head. All she could hear was her friends begging for her help echoing in her head and she couldn’t make it stop. All she wanted to do was make the shouting stop. She could still feel the alcohol running through his

Happiness, bliss, love, thrill, fear, heartbreak, but there's one word that stood strong beneath each of those, depression. It’s sad to think, that what everyone had failed to see was, that behind that smile of mine, was a darkness with so much depth it engulfed me. The only one who had ever known was the girl that was like a sister to me, Elena. We battled depression together for years, she was the one who won her battle…I did not. The story, written in the form of a letter, shows the process of a thirteen-year-old girl becoming more mature as she expresses her grievances from her tragic childhood. At the beginning of the story, she described both the emotional and physical difficulties her family suffered through because of the absence of her father. She felt lonely, insecure and confused as she hoped that her father would come back. “Sometimes I had bad dreams. I would dream the welfare took us away and no one missed us, not even mommy. Daddy where were you?” (Page 163) At the end of the letter, however, the girl started to understand that her view of the world before was unbalanced and incomplete, “through a thin veil full of small holes”. (Page 165) She felt more released and started to notice “the greatness of the world”. (Page 165) She began to treasure all the memories she had with her family instead of thinking about her misery all the time, “we carried on living.” (Page 165) There was a great transition of her character from the beginning to the end of the letter.…
