Aleister Crowley’s Mystic Beliefs
Dedicating his whole adult life to indulging in everything he believed god would hate Edward Aleister Crowley, was nick named by his mother as “The great beast of revolution whose number is 666.” Aleister Crowley spent his life performing sex magic, taking heroin, opium, hashish, peyote and cocaine, invoking spirits, and even once offering himself to Russian authorities to help destroy authorities. (Conspiracy zone 3) Crowley’s first act of action was to join Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. He also joined the Ordos Temple Orients, in which he practiced sexmagic. Leading to the establishment of the philosophical theory of Thelma, Crowley stated “Do as thou wilt shall be the law”. Known as the wickedest man in the world Edward Alexander Crowley joined the Ordos Templi Orientis, in which he was one of the freemasons that discovered the supreme secret of practical magic, and was responsible for founding the religious philosophy of Thelma’s.
Aleister Crowley was born October 12, 1875 in Leamington Spa, England. He died in Hastings, England on December 2, 1947. His legacy lives on in his writings on Magick and other mystical subjects, and in the Secret Orders which continue to advance the principles of Thelema to this day. Aleister's parents were members of the Plymouth Brethren, a strict fundamentalist Christian sect. As a result, Aleister grew up with a thorough biblical education and an equally thorough disdain of Christianity. ( poto 1)While attending Trinity College at Cambridge University, Crowley met George Cecil Jones. George Cecil Jones was a part of the Golden Dawns. “The Golden Dawns was an occult society led by Si Macgregor Mathers which taught magick, qabalah, alchemy, tarot, astrology, and other hermetic subjects (Brother’s Blues 1). The Golden Dawns was a group of men who practiced what they believed in with other men who found it all completely normal. The played with sex magick and no one held anything from the

Have you ever been tempted to do something that seemed fishy? Dora Alonso, the author of “Sophie and the Angel,” developed a story about an old lady who because of her loneliness and religion goes through a test of faith. Sophie was an old lady, she was lonely, and she was sexually repressed. This leads her to start to have hallucinations about an angel. We can assume the angel is an evil spirit, someone like the devil. Because Sophie was so religious, Sophie saw the angel as a good person who wanted to be her friend, when in reality he was the devil who wanted to question her faith.…

Premise; Altered States of Consciousness (ASC’s) have a direct relationship with Occult Practice and; certain drug usage is an occult practice (be it recreational or ritualistic). This paper presents evidence from a wide range of sources. To my knowledge all the sources are from non-Biblical worldviews; apart from Gasson (1985), Bobgan (1984) and Dr John Ankerberg and Dr. John Weldon in their work ‘The Worldview and Practices of the Occult’. Nevertheless all the sources offer evidence in support of the above premise. The phenomenon that we…

Gilles de Rais was one of the first “modern” serial killers even though he was alive during the 15th century. Experts believed that he killed anywhere from 140 to 800 children (DeBoer., 2001). He was also one of the lieutenants under the infamous Joan of Arc (DeBoer., 2001). Gilles was believed to be a great sorcerer (Encyclopedia of Occultism;Parapsychology., N.D.). He is also considered to be Bluebeard from old nursery songs (Encyclopedia of Occultism;Parapsychology., N.D.). Bluebeard was associated with many horrible crimes and other atrocious things (Encyclopedia of Occultism;Parapsychology., N.D.). Gilles’ trial was in 1440 when he was also executed for his crimes (Holloway., 2001). His crimes were rape, Satanism, mutilation, sodomy,…

The body is capable of many movements which collectively, allow us to perform everything that involves any movement at all. The six primary movements of the body that occur at the joints between segments are: flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, circumduction, and rotation. The six primary movements, along with any other anatomical movement, occur within three planes of motion; frontal, sagittal, and transverse. Flexion is defined as decreasing the angle between two body segments or bones. Flexion exercises often occur with a pulling force action, such as in the seated leg curl when the heels of the feet are pulled toward the gluteus maximus.…

    LaVeyan Satanism

Anton Szandor LaVey (1930—1997) was the founder of the Church of Satan, the first organized church in modern times promulgating a religious philosophy championing Satan as the symbol of personal freedom and individualism. Unlike the founders of other religions, who claimed exalted “inspiration” delivered through some supernatural entity, LaVey readily acknowledged that he used his own faculties to synthesize Satanism, based on his understanding of the human animal and insights gained from earlier philosophers who advocated materialism and individualism. Concerning his role as founder, he said that, “If he didn’t do it himself, someone else, perhaps less qualified, would have.”…

    Witch Craft of the Azande

    • 2083 Words

Witchcraft among the Azande is an integral part of everyday life. From highly involved communal practices to individual daily life, witchcraft and such happenings can take place at any time and to anyone. During his time among the Azande, Evans Pritchard originally thought of the Azande’s belief in witchcraft as naïve, believing that all mishaps were caused by bewitchment instead of taking personal responsibility. I personally find this interesting as it is a fine example of how people universally do not typically take responsibility for their misfortunes; instead they blame it on another. Why is this? Well, think to yourself, have you ever been stuck in traffic cursing at everyone else’s poor driving? The answer is probably yes because most people do not turn inwards towards themselves to see a potential problem. This is because we are sensory beings designed to sense and experience the world outside of ourselves. Turning inwards and seeing ourselves as the problem naturally is not something we as individuals do, this takes years or even a lifetime of fulfillment and maturity to realize. But this is further than I want to take us for now. Let us get back to our authors interpretation of Azande witchcraft and how his understanding of this topic changed the more time he spent among the Azande people.…

The situation between Eve and Satan in Paradise Lost remains illustrated in today’s society. Milton stresses on the fact that we do not always have to have some higher power to advise our life decisions. Even today, society wants us to create our own independent thought and acts, it is a topic used in everyday life, while the Church still wants us to follow the light of God. Whether we decide to think YOLO or decide to think…

Many people believe the first Black-Greek Lettered organization was Alpha Phi Alpha because most of the literature available to the masses is limited. For many Alpha Phi Alpha marks the beginning of the Black Greek movement in the United States. Looking deeper into the history of Black Greek one would find that there were several attempts at forming a Black fraternal organization before the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity formation at Cornell University beginning in fall 1905. Some of these early formations of Black Greek organizations were fated to fail because of the challenges that black students faced on college campuses.…

Since then, the stories of demons and devils have intertwined with our society, leaving behind a long history that includes many appearances by Lucifer, who is often recognised as a demon to many people, to give us the image of the Devil we have today. Jeffrey Burton Russel, an American historian and religious studies scholar analyses the Devil in his own works such as; Satan: The Early Christian Tradition (1981), Lucifer: The Devil in the Middle Ages (1984), and Mephistopheles: The Devil in the Modern World (1986). In The Devil in the Modern World Russel’s third installment of his history of Devil-culture relations, he details the concept of the Devil and how it changed throughout the past centuries. Russel details the past portrayals of the Devil and creates his own definitions based off the studies, writing: “The Devil is the symbol of radical evil. But does he exist, and in what sense? The key to the question is in what sense.” (Russel 18). In what sense do we have to look at when analysing the Devil to this degree? Russel expands on this question through the roots…
