Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been able to read people well. When I go places, such as out with my friends, or even on vacation I tend to people watch. I always ask the question “why”. Why do people do this, what makes them say that. I currently work in retail right now, I have been since I was a sophomore in high school. People honestly fascinate me. In order to be what I want to be I will have to go through about 9 years of school. I either want to be an industrial psychologist, which is someone who works for large corporations and companies to help better their employees, or a clinical psychologist who mostly have a private practice and work with the public dealing with mental health issues. I will obviously have to attend college and get a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in something else. I am thinking that minor will be in Spanish. After college I will attend graduate school. So if I play my cards right and do not get distracted, it will take about nine years. I am currently working in retail. I have been with the company of BestBuy for three years now. And with working for them, this is kind of why I want to go into becoming an industrial psychologist. Within the next two years I am hoping once I declare my major that I can leave BestBuy and get a new job, perhaps at a doctor’s office, perhaps where I can work as a receptionist. Once graduated with my degree I plan on opening my own practice. There will always be needs for doctors, so I am not worried about the field of study I am going into. I will definitely work full time. Starting out my annual earnings will be about $45,000 to $55,000. After about five to ten years, once I am established in my field my annual salary will go up to $65,000 to $90,000.
