Amazon Rainforest Speech

You say you care but how can you say that when you continue to leave trails of destruction, to the rainforests. Have you noticed, or are you too caught up in your day? Have you ignored your actions and there impacts because you don’t want to face the truth? I hope you feel ashamed, for not realizing how beautiful this Earth is and can be, like a garden bursting with life. Instead you treat rainforest’s like rubbish on the side of the street. My name is Charley Hill, and I stand here before you today to express the threats and consequences of deforestation in The Amazon Rainforest. I fight for the rights of the dying animals, environments being destroyed and for the people who have lost their homes and lives because of your ignorance of climate
I mean you couldn’t possibly, considering the way you cut and burn them down to the ground, like their nothing. Well let me tell you, trees are essential for life. They clean up our pollution and carbon, they contribute to the cycling of our water and with less and fewer trees to continue the water cycle their role in transpiring the water will have been ruined. Resulting in land degradation which is dry patches of the Earth. Trees offer us medicines that cure our illnesses and give us food that feeds our families. Think about how you breathe; you breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide, plants and trees do the opposite. They absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen through a process called photosynthesis. When we cut down massive amounts of trees, carbon dioxide is no longer absorbed into the trees, and it stays in the atmosphere. With no more carbon dioxide being absorbed, this increases the problem of greenhouse gases and global warming. So why are you allowing companies to torture The Amazon Rainforest. The Amazon is burning down right now as I speak to you. Being cut down with ruthless machinery, at a horrific rate of 40 football fields every minute. That’s fifty percent of all the trees gone in the world in the next 100 years, and why? What for?
If you don’t think that climate change is a threat I implore you to interview one of the thousands of homeless people in Bangladesh. While you sat high and mighty in these same seats you’re in right now; their homes were washed from out under their feet because of rising in sea levels. Still not convinced? Okay, close your eyes and Imagine opening your eyes to a sky full of dark greys and blacks, choking on the chemicals and thick smoke that fills the air, this is the harsh reality the children of Beijing must face every day. They are forced to wear pollution masks just to go and get an education, yet you still just sit here and ignore this, how can you all be so
