In the “Hips” chapter concerning the girls’ images of themselves, I learned that Esperanza sees her hips as a sort of gateway and advantage, though she doesn’t know exactly for what yet, as well as they give her a sense of authority to some degree. “They are… ready and waiting like a new Buick with the keys in the ignition. Ready to take you where?” (pg 49) “… That’s right, I add before Lucy or Rachel can make fun of her. She is stupid alright, but she is my sister… it’s obvious I’m the only one who can speak with any authority…” (pg 50) Rachel and Lucy have already succumbed to a certain cultural view of women as eye candy and baby boomers. “[Hips]… are good for holding a baby when you’re cooking Rachel says… You need them to dance, says Lucy.” (pg 49) Nenny is different from Esperanza, Lucy, and Rachel in the sense that she is slightly less pack-minded, and is instead more individualistic. “Nenny… doesn’t hear me. She is too many light-years away. She is in a world we don’t belong to anymore.” (pg 52) Even if her reasoning is off sometimes, she has her own sense of logic, maybe because she isn’t depending on the other three girls. Esperanza, speaking to the girls, says, “You gotta know how to walk with hips, practice you know - like if half of you wanted to go one way and the other half the other. [Nenny says] that’s to lullaby it… that’s to rock the baby asleep inside you.”…

Cheap pet insurance will take care of almost all of the medical costs associated with owning a dog or cat. You can sign up for insurance right from your computer or smartphone. Most companies will give you a quote right from the start so you know what you will be paying before signing up. Make sure to carefully read the fine print before committing to a specific plan. There are usually three types of cheap pet insurance plans to choose from. The least expensive usually only covers routine visits, such as check-ups, vitamins, and vaccinations, which can be a good plan for when you own a puppy or kitten. But once that animal gets older, you will want to upgrade to a plan that includes more coverage. The next plan is for accidents and illness only and will cost more, but is great for covering high-cost surgeries and other medical costs. Finally, comprehensive coverage will basically cover everything from routine health care to chronic illness costs such as canine cancer. Again, be sure to fully understand the plan you are choosing so you aren’t stuck paying for coverage that you don’t need or that won’t cover the most important pet…

First of all, having pets in the class is a bad idea because it creates health issues for the pets and students. To illustrate, according to article #3, many animals die in the classroom because the kids don’t know how to care for the pet. The animal shouldn’t have to die because a student wasn’t being responsible and wasn’t caring for the animal. It would also be hard on the students because the students could…
