Ambition
Ambition
“Ambition is the path to success; persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.” (William Eardley IV) I think that every human being, to a greater or lesser extent, has an engine that makes us move forward in life; this is ambition. This is what moves and motivates us day-to-day. It is an inner desire to surpass ourselves and go further in life, where an inner battle with two powerful enemies: I and my mind, takes place. Since the moment I wake up, I feel motivated by a strange force inside me that does not allow me to be lying on bed all day, just the opposite; it fills me with a restless energy. I feel a great hunger to achieve every single goal I set, and I cannot stop until I reach it. And once I achieve my goals, I feel rewarded, happy. Sometimes my ambitions are short-term and others long-term. There are days my ambitions are greater than others. Anyway, it does not matter the kind of ambition I have, I always try to have a goal in mind. There are days some aims seem to be impossible; nevertheless, I try to be positive and think that everything is possible with determination, effort and dedication.
I believe that ambition means want, grow, have, explore, progress and get. And those who suffer from a lack of ambition are stuck in life and as a consequence, they are unhappy. The same happens with those who cannot achieve their goals, they feel frustrated and this leads to an unhappy life. Of course, we should try to strike a balance and not to fall in greed. And the line between ambition and greed seems to be very thin. And when this ambition becomes obsession the problem is even worst since a greedy person is blind and to achieve their goals, they can harm themselves or others.

Ambition is the strong desire to achieve a specific goal and is often driven by determination. Therefore, motivation can be defined as a word used to refer to the reason or reasons for engaging in a particular behaviour – especially human behaviour. These reasons may include a drive, a need, a desire to achieve a goal, a state of being, or an ideal. In human beings, motivation involves both conscious and subconscious drives.
