Macbeth is a Scottish nobleman, loyal and honorable. He meets the witches that predict that he shall be Thane Of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor and also King(1.3) Macbeth sends his beloved, Lady Macbeth, a letter she becomes excited and very ambitious and demands the death of King Duncan. The play, Macbeth, by William Shakespeare suggests that people are driven by ambition and the need for power; however, the characters are blinded by consequences that lead to unfortunate events.

After seeing the “false creation”(2.1), the bloody dagger “before [his] eyes”(2.1) , he felt that he was obligated to do the atrocious deed. Not only was Macbeth influenced by the bloody dagger but he was also influenced by the witches, and Lady Macbeth. His determination to kill King Duncan was greatly decided by Lady Macbeth, if she had not threatened his lack of love towards her, his ambition to have such great power would not have grown. Later on his best friend, Banquo, becomes suspicious of Macbeth’s strange act, but assumes it is because he was named Thane Of Cawdor.
