“America” is the title of the poem and is an extensive term with both great importance denotations and connotations. The title “America” does not only speak of the country which is the denotation, but it does also refer to a semantic meaning of the history of immigration and nationalistic which incorporates connotations such as liberty in patriotism.
Striking features occur as words are neatly organized into stanzas of equal length where words often are repeated. This repeating effect emphasize and intensify the actual meaning and therefor makes it plain to see for the reader or listener that it only takes few words to describe the significance of the text.
