Achieving The American Dream
All Americans can achieve the American dream. Immigrants consistently prove that with hard work and dedication the American dream can be fulfilled. Education makes it possible to achieve the American dream. There are programs available to help people get out of poverty and achieve the American dream. I chose that all americans can achieve the American dream, because what you put your mind to you can achieve.

Immigrant consistently prove that with hard work and dedication the American dream can be fulfilled. For example there is one immigrant that achieved the American dream his name is Joe Varagoon. He grew up in thailand in a family that survived on food stamps. His parents owned a restaurant, but varagoon disliked his familys choice of occupation , especially when other children went on vacastion during the holidays and he was forced to staqy and work…..In 1985, a friend gave varagoon $100 to travel to the u.s. he was homeless for the first few months in America because he didn’t have enough money for the down payment on an apartment… Now , almost 3 decades after coming to the u.s the varagoon family runs 3 thriving restaurants. This piece of evidence shows that not only americans can achieve the American dream. An immigrant came from his country poor but after time went by and he got his styff together he achieved very bid towards the American dream. Another example, is fiscal policy institute (f.p.i) found that 18% of small business owners (1 out of every 6) in the u.s are foreign-born. This was a survey token on 2007 on business owners. This idea states that a lot of immigrants achieve the American dream and have their own big business companies. With these pieces of evidence its obvious that alot of immigrants can achieve the American dream.

Education makes it possible to achieve the American dream. For example, 48% of college graduates from 2006 to 2011 believe they have more financial success than their parents. This evidence shows that the parents once gave up but set a good example for t6heir kids and helped their kids be better than they did. Also, that back then people didn’t believe in the American Dream much btu as years go by, people look back and think “Well maybe, I can achieve the American Dream” and they go out and achieve it. In addition, there is good news for students who completed internships during college. Those graduates earned nearly 15% more on average than those who did not. This means that students who completed internships during college can have a better educated mind. This chart is a supportive piece of evidence:
Even with education employment opportunities are not as great as before. For example students graduated during the past several years are facing historic obstacals in achieving the foundations of the american dream and express low expectations for their future

But what defines “better”.” How does the American Dream give people better lives? I believe that the American Dream gives people the opportunity to build a stable foundation for the families to grow on. The foundation that would allow them to gain freedom and education, the jobs, and the lives they have always…

An American immigrant will not define the American dream the same as a natural born citizen because they were both brought up different ways. Immigrants will not have the same goals and accomplishments as anybody else. They may have lower standards and be satisfied with things people would not usually be okay with. For this reason, many American immigrants may take the jobs nobody wants and are satisfied with it because it was better than their previous life. Many U.S. immigrants view the American Dream as simply getting a job that will barely support their families and pay the bills. America is the "Land of the Free," which means that you can do anything you desire as long as you work hard enough and that everyone living in America has equal opportunity. This is why people from other countries look at America and want this life for themselves, as well as their loved…

To achieve higher expectations of success than the previous generations, and accomplishing what hasn't already been accomplished, can be considered the overall American Dream. Generally, every child wants to surpass the achievements of their parents as a natural act of competition and personal satisfaction. Throughout The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath, and Death of a Salesman, there is a constant yearning desire to achieve the “American Dream;” whether it be reality or illusion. Fitzgerald, Steinbeck, and Miller, all portray the ideas of the American Dream relating to the time period that they are referring to. The strive to achieve a goal whether it be to be the wealthiest or achieve a great life by hard work seems to be the template for the original American dream in the books. To be able to support one’s family, have a decent job, a car, and a home, is the stereotypical, “American dream.” Fitzgerald, Steinbeck, and Miller incorporate their ideas of the American dream symbolically throughout their stories.…

The American dream is defined in many different ways by many different people. In The Great Gatsby, Gatsby has his heart set on Daisy to gain her love again but is soon ruined when he does not realize he can't repeat the past. In another person's viewpoint of the American dream is that they see the issues it can cause for the government such as "income inequality" (Merino). While some may say that it can cause government issues, the American dream is a reality to achieve whatever dream that the American citizen can dream of. Many people see especially immigrants who come from other countries such as Central America, Syria, and others places where they are suffering from to gain freedom, but they know they have the potential to succeed their dream.…

Everyone wants to achieve the American Dream, no matter who they are. It is a big part of the culture in The United States. The American Dream is where American citizens, or even immigrants from another country try to fulfill their own dreams of a successful life. That could include things like: a well-paying job, being financially stable, having a happy family, having their own house, etc. America does not provide the American Dream to the “tired, the poor, and the huddled masses” due to society saying there are more important things to do than helping people achieve the dream, and others don’t think everyone deserves a chance.…

There are many stories out there that one tends to hear about horrific tragedies that have occurred over the years, and one of the most devastating events that had happened was Hurricane Katrina. Dave Egger’s Zeitoun details the events and struggles of one man and his family, Abdurrahman Zeitoun during this devastation. In a time where everyone was panicking and rushing to find ways and areas where they can evacuate and stay safe from the storm, Zeitoun had remained constant about staying behind in order to protect those who remained and needed help. Regardless of how this impending doom was, he had chosen to remain because he knew there were people that would need aid, and he truly wanted to be able to help out anyone in any way that he possibly can. Zeitoun had done a variety of actions that showcased his loving and concerned side, such as, saving an old woman, and providing food and water to dogs and individuals alike. Now Ultimately, Zeitoun’s caring and compassionate personality is emblematic of how people should try and come together during a time of need and help out each other to the best of their ability, much like Zeitoun had done throughout the course of the novel. In turn, Zeitoun's story needs to be told because it conveys the people’s desire to give hope to a community, through heroic and caring actions, even if all seems hopeless.…

The idea of the American dream—that this country is the land of opportunity and that anyone can achieve success through hard work—has given hope to people born without hope. This is one of the main reasons people come to the United States from other countries, but now the American dream is being questioned, does it still exist. The collection of stories, “Living it” and “From Ragged Dick”, are two examples of how the American dream does not exist in our generation. It is also shared in the articles, “The promise of opportunity” and “Whither or whether the American Dream”, the American dream is not viable today.…
