American Dream: Policy Changes In The United States
On the grounds of having a racist president, the American Dream is not attainable to Americans. Equally important, ”Donald Trump’s retaliation against the parents of a Muslim U.S. Army officer who died while serving in the Iraq War was a clear low point in a campaign full of hateful rhetoric.” (O’Conner & Marans, 2016) Former US president, Donald Trump attacked Muslim Gold Star parents who lost a son who was a Muslim U.S. Army officer serving in the Iraq War. They were attacked because of their religious faith. You can’t criticize anyone for the faith they follow. That is just like tearing the ends of the American flag. Also, “Big government is always the first go to cop out when it comes to changes. But in the end, yes they can do however many policy changes, but even if there was a policy change, or a law put into effect, what are you doing to take advantage of that? Yes, there will always be a sort of fear, but in the end we are given one life. We have to live the way we want, and most importantly revive the American Dream, which has been so promised, and so real for people coming into the USA. Why not stand by our word, and live up to the name The Land of Opportunity.” (Meyer, 2017) The highest level in government seems to always “play” with the law.
