It's over. That person is gone. Why do we have to part while the love is still there? Why do we have to suffer? Why do we have to cry when somebody bids goodbye? Why do beginnings have an end? Why do we have to meet only to lose in the end? There are questions left unanswered, words left unsaid, letters left unread, poems left undone, songs left unsung, love left unexpressed, promises left unfulfilled. In a relationship, one of the hardest things to do is saying goodbye and letting go. It is as hard as breaking a crystal because you'll never know when you will be able to pick up the pieces again. More often than not, they who go feel not the pain of parting: it is they who stay behind that suffer, because they are left with memories of a love that was meant to be, a love that was. At the beginning and at the end of a relationship, we are embarrassed to find ourselves alone. Unfair as it may seem, but that's the way love goes. That's the drama, the bittersweet and the risk of falling in love. After all, nothing is constant but change. Everything will eventually come to its end without us knowing when, without us knowing how, without us even knowing why. In letting go, sorrows come not as a single spy but in battalion. It seems that everywhere you go, everything you do, every song you hear, every turn of your head, every move of your body, every beat of your heart, every blink of your eye and every breath you take always reminds you of him. It's like a stab of a knife, a torture in the night. Funny how the whole world becomes depopulated when only one person is missing. Just imagine, there are billion people on earth and yet it seems you feel lonely and empty without the other. I don't know if it's worth calling an art, but letting go entails special skills sparkled with a considerable space and time. Time heals all wounds but it takes a little push on our part. Acceptance plays a part. Not all love stories end with "...and they live happily ever after." Sometimes we have to part because of circumstances beyond our control. We have to suffer if it would mean happiness for others. We have to cry to temporarily let go of the pains. Every beginning has its end like every dawn has its dusk. It's something we can't control, something we had to live up. It's over. That person's gone. But life has to go on. Goodbye doesn't always mean forever. There will always be a place and time where questions will be answered, words will be spoken, letters will be read, poems will be recited in the night, songs will be sung in harmony, love will be expressed in solitude and promises will be fulfilled. Somewhere. Somehow. Someday.

A genre is a type or category of film that can be easily identified by specific elements of its plot, mise en scene, setting, style, and character types. (GoodyKoontz, & Jacobs, 2014). Romantic comedies are my favorite genre of movie. Romantic comedies seem to be the least flexible of all the genres of movies. The plot in a romantic comedy involves a romance that leads to comic situations. Romantic comedies are usually more geared towards the female audience. The romantic comedy genre has spawned subgenres such as sex comedy, or screwball comedy. Typically with a romantic comedy the audience expects a happy ending, no matter how it is achieved. Every so often a movie is released with such tense anticipation and glamorous visual art that the public is drawn to this dramatic rendition of life in the theatre. For even just two hours or so, you are put into a different lifestyle. Action, drama or comedy it may be. We are thrust into a different way of thinking. We are forced to learn the characters thoughts and feelings. The hard work and artistic skill that goes into these magnificent films is not an easy thing to mimic. Out of the thousands of movies released worldwide each year only a handful are truly worthy of the label film art. Most of the great movies are either produced by a multi million dollar company that hired a director with quite a bit of experience under his belt, or are made with little money and slowly find their way into the film business due to…

In the United States, 30-40% of marriages end in divorce, and that number is rising yearly. Couples nowadays tend to be afraid of commitment, with statistics showing that a quarter of people ages 25-34 say they will not marry. These couples do have things to be afraid of, of course, such as loyalty and trust issues, which are a main cause of divorces everywhere. There are marriages that do work out in the end, of course, and these relationships often involve an unwritten code of respect and loyalty. In The Arrival, and in the song “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” by Death Cab For Cutie, two couples display this promise of loyalty when going through a hardship, which, for other couples, may be reason enough to end the relationship. The couples displayed in these works however, know that their love is reason enough that they can push through their hardships, and in the end, come out better then before. Through exploring the tone, mood, and theme of these works, one can see a common characteristic of finding balance between trust and loyalty, while also having a hope for a successful future.…

Morrie was a man of many lessons, experiences, and wise words. Morrie said, “Death ends a life, not a relationship. All the love you created is still there. All the memories are still there. You live on-in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here.” I agree with Morrie. There are many things in life that go unnoticed. We are too busy with ourselves, and we forget about others. Once they are gone we begin to miss them and wish for just one more day with them, but even when they are gone all those memories will…

The death of a loved one will always hold sway. Not because Death is some big bad, but because the possibilities that person held are now lost. The future one imagined with their loved one will never exist. Sometimes I think that it is this we grieve the most. Cheryl Strayed swallowed one of her mother’s charred bones whole, as though that might somehow bring her closer to her lost mother. It is not a breakup, you don’t just wake up on more morning and not feel the pain anymore. Every day, I consciously make the decision to get out of my bed and live. Often I would rather stay under the covers and sob for the brother I never got to know. It’s so easy to get caught up in my sadness and choose to hide from happiness, but that isn’t the point of loss. I am a firm believer that God does not take anything, or anyone, away without the intentions of a greater purpose. Michael changed my life. He has had an integral role in who I am. He changed my parents lives. He showed them an unconditional love. He changed my sisters lives in the same way that he did mine. Michael’s life had meaning as did his death. Hundreds of people attended his funeral, some of them complete strangers. I know that he impacted their lives as well, in a way that he might not have been able to do otherwise.
