Football is a very entertaining sport to most Americans. Football was brought to America in 1869 by Walter Camp. It was not like the football today but it had the same concept to the game. Over the course of about 90 years, many rules were invented and the way you played the game was completely changed. At the end, the football we know and love was created. The point of football is to get the football from your end zone to the other teams end zone. Doing so would give you six points. Once you do that you have the choice of kicking the ball for one extra point or trying to reach the end zone again for two points. At the end of the game, the team with the highest amount of points wins. Some teams are rivals due to the history they have had with each other. For an example my favorite team is the Denver Broncos. There rival is the Oakland Raiders. Our history with them has not always been great. Many times fights have broken out on field. This caused some of our teammates and their teammates to be suspended from playing games. The Broncos haven't lost a game against the Raiders since 2010 causing the rivalry to grow bigger each year. Many rivalries start once a team starts to beat a specific team many times in a row. Rivalries aren't a bad thing. Rivalries make very interesting games to watch and can bring people closer from there interest in the sport.
In conclusion football is a world wide sport that can bring people closer together while they have fun at the same time. This shows what football is really about bringing people closer

Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, and Sunday Night Football are those special nights when many fans lose their minds over how the NFL rule book is set up. The NFL has many rules that are not clear and should be revised. Almost every rule can have an argument on what is wrong with it, as well on how it should be changed to have a clear cut explanation when a play comes into question. Some of the most argued calls come from these Rules and Sections in the NFL rule book: Rule 2- Definitions - Section 2-The Ball, and Possession of the ball, Section 14- Fouls and spots of enforcement, violation, and Rule 15- Officials and instant replay.…

Football over the Years Everything changes over time, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, and others you can’t really tell it has changed at all but in football you can easily tell the changes it has been through over the years. While all sports have changed over the years football seems to have changed the most dramatically from rules, equipment, stadium and even in the way we watch football today. When American football was born it was an all-white sport played with hardly no equipment for protection except for a leather helmet to protect your head, the game was played on hard dirt and as you can expect, injuries were constant and some deaths even occurred from the brutal hits and the missing component of protection equipment.…

Professional football can be traced back to 1982, when there was a $500 contract for the Allegheny Athletic Association and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club to play a game against each other. Originally football was primarily a sport of the Midwestern industrial towns in the United State. In 1902, the American Professional Football Association was formed and two years later the National Football League. The competition was fierce between the two leagues, which led the two leagues to merge. Football eventually became national. When the two leagues merged is when…
