American Rabbit Research Paper
A rabbit is a small mammal that can be found around the world, but they originally came from southwest Europe and northwest Africa. The scientific name for rabbits is Oryctolagus cuniculus. The most well known rabbit species, the European rabbit, has been introduced to places all over the world. More than half of the world’s rabbit population is currently found in North America.

Males are referred to as bucks, females are referred to as does (similar to deer), and young are simply called bunnies. Habitats where rabbits are commonly found include meadows, forests, woodlands, deserts, grasslands, and wetlands. All rabbits live in groups, which can be big or small, and in burrows. They graze on grass and other plants which are very low in nutrients that rabbits need. This requires them to do something that I think is very gross. They eat their own waste (dung)!

They have just the cutest faces! But many see rabbits as pests, especially gardeners and farmers. They are also considered to be rodents, and they reproduce very quickly like other rodents do, so maybe their designation as rodents is not very surprising.
