BEGINNINGS
In 1959, Amway launched a business model fueled through the power of relationships. The original product offered in this model, was Liquid Organic Cleaner (L.O.C.). It was the first concentrated, bio-degradable, and environmentally friendly cleaning product. Since then, Amway has expanded from home products to a global leader in the categories of health and beauty.

RICH DEVOS AND JAY VAN ANDEL
In 1959, Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel founded Amway Corporation. Says Rich DeVos, “We were just two guys from Ada, Michigan, USA who wanted to have a business of our own. We were two kids (it still feels like that sometimes) who were hungry for success and who wanted to give others the chance to be in business for themselves, too.” Our late founder, Jay Van Andel, said of the company, “Amway gets people into a new life of excitement, promise, profit, and hope.” Amway now operates in over 80 countries and territories around the world.

COMPANY SALES REACH $10.9 BILLION
Global sales in 2011 exceeded $10.9 billion for Amway parent company, Alticor Inc. With six consecutive years of growth, company sales have increased 11 out of the past 12 years.

NBA ALL-STAR GAME AT THE AMWAY CENTER
On Sunday, February 26th, the world had their eyes on the Amway Center in Orlando to watch the 61st annual NBA All-Star game. The All-Star events at the Amway Center were broadcast in 215 countries and territories and in over 44 languages! The West just squeaked by the East; 152-149.
