An Accurassic Duncan's The Diary Of Duncan
This book takes place in the town of Toronto, Canada. A delinquent teen named Duncan is troubled teen that does crimes with his friends and has a job at the lost and found. During one of his days on his job at the lost and found he stumbles upon a mysterious diary lurking around while cleaning the lost and found area. This diary belongs to a serial killer who stalks some women that he sees and his targets may soon be hunted.
Duncan takes action by reading the diary to find out who can this person be but gives up on trying to find the serial killer and decides to give it to the police. But due to his delinquent behaviors he finds himself uneasy when going to the police and they think that this is a joke. Now Duncan takes it upon himself to

    In the novel they give us the impression that the setting is in modern day Syracuse. The main character and the person that tells most of the story is Melinda Sordino. In the novel she is a struggling teen that had to deal with getting raped at a party a summer before her first day of high school. At the party she ends up getting drunk and meeting another character named Andy Evans. After getting raped she panics and calls 911 and the police break into the party and they arrest some of her friends for underage drinking. That summer she lost her friends because of what she had done at the party and held grudges without knowing she had gotten raped by Andy Evans. Her grades end up getting affected tremendously and she looses who she was before getting raped, which was a happy and girly teenage girl. Throughout the novel she dresses in dull clothing and try’s to cope with the situation. At the end of the novel she finally snaps and tells her old friends what had happened and ends up as a sort of “inspiration” or hero and gains the respect of her former friends and high school and try’s to move on from that step by step.…

At the end of the previous summer, Duncan tried to save a drowning girl and failed. Not being a hero has really affected his life, particularly his relationship with his girlfriend Kim. Also, he is now terrified of swimming, especially when the nightmares come back. Duncan's summer job is with the public transit lost and found. While trying to make the hours go faster, Duncan looks through the items, especially the books and golf clubs. One day he discovers an unmarked journal with no name, which depicts sadistic animal torture experiments, boasts of arson fires, and the planning for the serial killings of three women. Duncan decides to make amends for his failure last summer by tracking down the owner of the journal by using clues left hidden in the diary. After talking with his friend Vinny, Duncan decides to turn the journal over to the police, but they do not take him seriously, so he decides to get help from Vinny, do some research at the local library, and find out where the killer works and lives so they can prove to the police the diary is for real. But in the process when Duncan finds the house of the serial killer, he decides to take a look in it but unfortunately at that very time the serial killer appears and chases Duncan to the subway station. They get into fight there and they both fell on the subway tracks in the station where they get hit by the train. Duncan luckily survives but the serial killer dies.…
