The purpose of this research study is to address and analyze the usage of different teaching and learning strategies in the classroom while teaching the English Language Learners (ELLs). The ELLs are extensively populated in the U.S. public school system; however, they average very low test scores and expose the inability to integrate into the curriculum. Also, the school districts and schools have not been able to implement an effective teaching system that will enhance the integration of the ELLs into the classroom curriculum and improve their academic proficiency of the language. Moreover, this research study will be consisted of three chapters. The Chapter One will address the issue and main research question providing additional information on the background and significance of the study. The Chapter Two will present the literature review on this topic/issue and Chapter Three will explain the methodology for qualitative study trying to provide an answer to the main research question.
