George Orwell’s Animal Farm contains a particular character named Napoleon, a fierce-looking Berkshire boar. Napoleon is conniving, a plagiarist and manipulative. At a meeting, when the animals had to make a decision, Orwell showed Napoleon’s first conniving scheme, “Napoleon stood up and, casting a peculiar sidelong look at Snowball, uttered a high-pitched whimper...dashed straight for Snowball, who only sprang from his place just in time to escape their snapping jaws” (Orwell 39). Here the dogs that Napoleon had raised attacked Snowball. It is apparent that Napoleon took these dogs to use them for what he needed, and at this time he needed to get Snowball out of the way. This action of attacking Snowball was very harmful, he only just barely…

The animals have heard so much about Snowball, they started making things up to be on Napoleon’s side. Things get worse when Snowball was accused of being a secret agent, “Snowball was in league with Jones from the very start! He was Jones’ secret agent, all the time” (57). Just when you think Snowball couldn’t get blamed for anything else he gets accused of being a traitor. Everyone in the farm hates him, but as soon as Squealer explains that accusations they all go insane wanting Snowball’s death. Napoleon got what he wanted all along, Snowball was one of the most hated animals, while he is being praised as the magnificent leader. After the day Snowball ran away everything changed, and could never go back to the way it was. Napoleon was in everyone’s mind, he could say anything and they will believe him that’s the reason they all detested Snowball so much. Snowball doesn’t mind any of it, at the end of the day he keeps returning to the farm to explore. Snowball is admirable because no matter how much hate he receives he keeps coming back. This reason clarifies why Snowball is my favorite character, he will never care about…

In the novel, Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, where there is one specific character, Napoleon, who took a role in this book whom was a natural leader for the sake and future for Animal Farm. Napoleon is a pig who takes upon leadership for all animals, makes roles and differences as before Mr. Jones or Snowball lead the farm, but also acts as if he was a dictator. From these facts about Napoleon, it shows how animal farm will be under circumstances of his actions and his temperament that the farm will face. Napoleon is known as the antagonist in the story, and as for the quote ‘’Napoleon took no interest in Snowball’s committees’’ (Orwell 34). In this quote, it shows Napoleon’s perspective against other leader(s) which he had no interest…

He fights the humans in battle against the humans and commands them successfully. This quality makes him most suitable because he is fighting for the animals to overpower the humans. His inventiveness allows for the society of animals to prosper over the humans; the inventions allow them to build their society up. He reads and learns to make Animal Farm better, while trying to educate the other animals too. Overall, Snowball is more involved with the animals and doesn’t want to have more power than them. Napoleon on the other hand, is more of a dictator and is more concerned for himself. For example, when he overlooks the commandments for himself. He takes Snowball’s ideas and claims they are his. Also, Napoleon acts much more immature than Snowball. For instance, “then suddenly he lifted his leg, urinated over the plans, and walked out without uttering a word.” He doesn’t handle disputes maturely and his actions show this. Also, he blames Snowball for the destruction of the windmill, even though it was the storm. Snowball is the obvious candidate to govern Animal Farm and is best for protecting all the animals that reside there. Napoleon seems to be covering the farm from animalism to communism. All of the animals of Animal Farm should rally together and say, “Snowball for everyone, Napoleon for…

In Torey Hayden's book, One Child, I met a child named Sheila. Sheila was a sad, abused, emotionally disturbed, and broken little girl. Six year old Sheila was headed for an empty life with a future in a state mental institution when she landed, by chance, in Torey Hayden's special education class. Sheila was headed for the mental institution as a last resort. She had been in and out of placement in schools, and had made no improvement.…

Snowball believes in the happiness of his citizens. He would always put the farm first and try to achieve everyone's needs, this is seen when he devised a plan for a windmill tower that would produce electricity and benefit everyone on the farm. Napoleon, however, is more of a demanding, overpowering pig who always gets what he wants. He gets influenced easily and always puts himself first. He believes that he is Animal Farm's destined leader and praises himself for all the things that he has done for the animals this is seen when Napoleon spreads lies and rumours, making Snowball into a symbol of the enemy within and steals snowballs idea of the windmill.…

Hello comrades, today right this second, I am supporting Snowball because he is not a thieving liar, a pig of trust and a pig with honor. He is the real pig behind the farm; not Napoleon. He has saved many animals during the Battle of Cowshed and he too shed blood. Napoleon, he is the real liar he has done nothing contributing to the leadership of the society! He is the traitor and not Snowball because he is the one with the ideas and with his heart so bright; brighter than the sun. His heart so pure, the purest even.…

Often through his influential representative, Squealer, Napoleon routinely lies to the unintelligent animals. For instance, he alters the story of the Battle of the Cowshed to paint himself as a heroic figure. In actuality Napoleon accomplishes nothing remarkable during the battle, but Squealer later convinces the other animals otherwise: “Do you not remember… [how] when panic was spreading and all seemed lost, that Comrade Napoleon sprang forward with a cry of ‘Death to Humanity!’ and sank his teeth in Jones’s leg?” (81). Although Napoleon commands his followers’ admiration, he does not deserve that respect, for he obtains it deceitfully. He also conceals his own shortcomings by persuading the other animals to blame Snowball, whom he banished from Animal Farm, for all of the farm’s misfortunes. “Whenever anything went wrong it became usual to attribute it to Snowball” (78). By slandering Snowball, Napoleon deviously establishes himself among the other animals as the only fitting leader for Animal Farm. Admittedly, one instance of Napoleon’s trickery averts an attack on the farm when food supplies run low. “Napoleon was well aware of the bad results that might follow if the real facts of the food situation were known, and he decided to make use of Mr. Whymper to spread a contrary impression” (75). Though misleading the neighboring farmers proves advantageous in that instance, Napoleon’s…

I chose to draw the scene where Napoleon chases out Snowball. I think that it is an important to the plot becuase it is part of the rising action. During thos scene Napoleon’s nine vicious dogs chase out Snowball. At this point it leaves Napoleon with a lot of power, since Snowball is gone. Once Napoleon has this power it gave him the chance to corrupt the minds of the other animals. It gives Napoleon the power to brain wash all the animlas into thinking that what ever he thinks is right. In the drawing it shows Squealer and Napoleon with smirks on ther faces. Squealer and Napoleon are supposed to symbolize that the pigs have more power than the others. Since the pigs are sitting higher than all the other animals it shows that the pigs have…

“One animal was lost today, and to honour the fallen, we shall sing ‘Beasts of England’ at the end.” Snowball paused, surveying the attentive audience in front of him. They looked eager for him to continue, though sad for the loss for their efforts. Napoleon gave him a look, and he started talking, again. “The pure determination of all of us together, comrades, was enough to frighten away Jones, and his evil henchmen, and possibly any thought of returning as well.…
