When I was in sixth grade, near the end of school, someone came in for a type of presentation. She was in the generation above me, she talked about her life, her dream career, and what she does for a living.

At one point that she was there she said(well I don’t know exactly what she said but the just of it was)”when you get the feeling of butterflies in your stomach it’s a good thing, it means that you’re experiencing/trying new things”. That sentence of advice changed my life, when you’re in sports you get the feeling of

The art of denouncing has been mastered in literature through the years. Authors are slammed with unfair claims because of little white lies told in memoirs. Tracy Ross’ memoir, The Source of All Things has a common value of coming to terms with the truth to provide healing. Although literary scholars conclude that memoirs have a blurred line between fiction and nonfiction, the value of the memoir does not change because there is still healing provided for the author, and people who went through a similar circumstance would see that there is always hope to overcome their struggles. This is proven through the essays By the Book by Hilary Mantel and The Three R’s of Narrative Nonfiction by Lee Gutkind. The memoir still holds its purpose.…

As a child, it is fair to say that I was raised by my grandparents. My earliest recollections date back to about the age of four. My grandmother managed an in home daycare with about ten students and 5 who would come after elementary school. It was open till 5:30 p.m. so I became quite familiar with the other students enrolled. Being that I was among the youngest I enjoyed the benefits of having twice the education as the other students. I would learn phonetics with them in class, and once they were gone, my grandmother and I would have special “reading sessions”. An activity I would profit from for the rest of my life.…

The thirteenth emoji going left to right, that has heart eyes and has its lips perked out is relateable to a part of the book where Jerome and Rory are kissing intensively. On page 200 it states "I started pressing my lips into his cheek - just a hint of a kiss,.....I felt his shoulders release, and he made a little noise that was partly a groan, partly a sigh. He kissed my neck up, up, up to my ear......My body flushed itself with all the good chemicals that it takes to reserve for making out. On page 201 it states " He told me scary Jack the Ripper facts, and I had the sudden need to make out with him until I ran out of breath. I would have continued indefinitely if........."…

The people I take advice from need to be honest and sincere in what they tell me. They must lay the facts down in front of me and tell me what they would do in my situation. In the end, the adviser must let me decide to take or not to take the advice. If it is good advice, what they told me will change my view or action for the better.…

I am not a professional reader, nor am I a professional writer. As a matter of fact, I don’t like writing at all, but then writing is a part of life. I was only 6 years old when I started to take an interest in reading and also started to learn how to read. My grandmother was a greater reader. She would read to me all the time and encourage me to read anything I could get my hands on. I would always see her with a book during her spare time.…

One would think that purchasing your first home would be a very fascinating experience; after all it is one of the most major purchases of your entire life. In America, home ownership ties in with the American Dream and the spirit of working hard to one day earn through hard work a home with a white picket fence. My husband and I felt that it was time for us to reward ourselves for all the hard work we have been putting in over the years by purchasing our first home, which was well overdue. I quickly learned the process of purchasing your first home can be very frustrating and stressful. However, if you survive the home buying process the reward is priceless once you move into your “American Dream.”…

Red, that is what comes to my mind when I remember May 3rd of my freshman year in high school. Red was my totaled out car, red was the stained seat fabric from my brother’s blood, red was the flashing lights and sirens, and red was my eyes from the tears I cried. I could not change that day, I could not turn back time and so my heart bled out red.…
