There are many possible causes of global warming. However, for the past several years, NASA noted “that most of the causes of global warming are man-made activities.” The “burning of fossil fuel is the top list of man made activities that largely contribute to global warming and this occurs in automobiles, in factories, and in electric power plants that provide energy for houses and office buildings” (Global Warming NASA). The burning of fossil fuels produces carbon dioxide , a chemical element that “slows the escape of heat into space” (Global Warming Nasa). “According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC 's) report, CO2…

The first thing that Al Gore does to make a logical argument for the problem of global warming is he provides a chart showing the carbon dioxide emissions as the years have gone by, this allows us to see real problems with global warming because it not only shows that global warming is real shows what’s going to happen if the traditional American ways are continued. Al Gore also uses before and after pictures to establish logos through inductive reasoning. He shows before and after pictures of the Earth as time has progressed and also shows us pictures of what happening to our glaciers and how they are melting by the second. This is a small observation that infers a larger theory without providing it. This basically proves effective because it shows us the extreme effects of global warming allowing us to believe that global warming is an extreme problem and is leading to the degradation of all these things. All of these effectively convince Americans that global warming is a problem resulting in them wanting to do something to fix it. The carbon dioxide graph also establishes logos through deductive reasoning, it gives us specific facts about the past, present and then the future if we continue to practice the things we are now. The give facts to his audience, the American people, and convinces them with number that truly establish global warming as a…

Al Gore believes that Global Warming is actually happening to Planet Earth. The major cities in North and South America, Asia, and Australia are running out of water due to the fact that we are using all of the water from the underground streams because of the huge droughts and the glaciers that are melting. Farmers are struggling because of the droughts so the crops will not produce as good of yields. Global Warming is causing people to have to move from their homes on the coast because of the rising water levels. Countries have had to call national emergencies because of unexpected wildfires. The storms in the Pacific and Atlantic are getting stronger so that is the cause of whole cities being in danger closer inland because the storms can travel farther inland. Al Gore’s goal is to get all of the countries on Planet Earth to pass laws to help with conservation so the effects of Global Warming slow down.…

For the last 2.5 million years, global temperature has shifted between cold glacial periods that last for around 100 000 years, and warmer interglacial periods that last for around 10 000 years. Right now we are in an interglacial period. 20 000 years ago the Earth was cold. Around 15000 years ago it started to warm up, this was the end of the last glacial period. Over the last 10 000 years the climate has been warm with minor fluctuations, however over the last 1000 years the climate has been fairly constant with small fluctuations in annual temperature. Over the last century global temperature has increased rapidly. This is called global warming; there has been a sharp rise in average temperature, 0.7oc between 1900 and 2000. The temperature increase over the last century has been very fast. There is a consensus among scientists that the changes in climate over the last century are a result in human activities (anthropogenic causes), including Al Gore, as shown in the statement which I agree with. I think the majority of global warming is due to humans therefore it is our right to try and find solutions to diminish global warming as much as we can.…

In the documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”, Al Gore effectively argues, through using ethos, pathos and logos. Al Gore wanted the people to know about global warming and how we each have a hand in causing this disastrous situation. As an example the greenhouse gases that are caused by human activity and CO2. Greenhouse gases trap the sun and cause it to melt floating sea ice and killing off animals such as the polar bears that lived in this part of the region.…

As said, the major cause of global warming is the emission of green house gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide etc into the atmosphere. The major source of carbon dioxide is the power plants. These power plants emit large amounts of carbon dioxide produced from burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation. About twenty percent of carbon dioxide emitted in the atmosphere comes from burning of gasoline in the engines of the vehicles. This is true for most of the developed countries. Buildings, both commercial and…
