INTRODUCTION
A hydrogen fuel vehicle is a vehicle that uses hydrogen as its on-board fuel for motive power. Hydrogen vehicles include hydrogen fuelled space rockets, as well as automobiles and other transportation vehicles. The power plants of such vehicles convert the chemical energy of hydrogen to mechanical energy either by burning hydrogen in an internal combustion engine, or by reacting hydrogen with oxygen in a fuel cell to run electric motors. Widespread use of hydrogen for fuelling transportation is a key element of a proposed hydrogen economy.
Hydrogen fuel cells as a source of power, focusing primarily on its usage in our personal automobiles. A fuel cell is an electrochemical device that generates electricity from the combination of hydrogen and oxygen which can be taken from the air. Development of these vehicles represents the greatest technological challenges.
Hydrogen fuel is not an energy source, it has to be produced.95% of hydrogen is made from methane. Renewable energy sources can be a source of hydrogen for a fuel but its extraction from the sources is an expensive method. Integrated wind to hydrogen plants using electrolysis of water are some of the techniques that gives larger quantities at lower cost.
