An Memorable Experience
Growing up I’ve had many memorable and important experiences. One that I am most proud of was the day that I graduated from high school. You may think graduating is just a part of life, but isn’t it something memorable I can speak of? Well, for me this has been my most proud moment so far. It was the day I finally proved to myself and everyone else that I made it and all on my own. I’ve been serving and helping others for three whole years as the monitor of our class. The day when we graduated, my lovely teacher and dear classmates showed their respect and appreciation to me. Everything just crowded in and images flashed into my mind. To be frank, I had never felt so happy and satisfied before. High school was a huge milestone in my life, and that is also what makes graduation so memorable to me.

I called everyone I knew to let them know I would be having a cap and gown ceremony. Words cannot describe the joy I felt at knowing that I had finally finished school. My freshman year was an important year because my teachers were pushing me more. Teachers were taking the modifications out of my assignments. Even though I still had my ESL support class, where they would still help me with my other classes’ assignments, I was on my own in the rest of my classes. In my freshman year, I could read, write and English much better and I felt confident in doing so. It wasn’t the best but it was my best. Sophomore year came and I was put in a regular English class, but it was 9th grade English. This made students make fun of me again because they I was the only sophomore in that class. Still that didn’t stop me because I knew how good I was doing. In my sophomore year I moved into the top 10% of class rank, which I was really proud of. Then my Junior year came, and I was nominated for an opportunity to be in National Honor Society. I was accepted and was part of NHS which means that I had to present academic awards. Lastly my senior year came and my hard work kept paying off. I was the only Hispanic guy in NHS, and then became the Vice-President. I also got Youth of the Year of my community. Finally, for graduation I was one of the three finalists for the Veterans award. All these accomplishments throughout my high school career meant a lot to me, to my family and to my…
