Many migrate to this Nation with hope that more opportunities will be available to them in the US than at home but acquire struggles once they arrive. My husband, Pedro Meza, was one of many who came to the Unites States illegally and with perseverance and will power success was achieved. “Mexico is beautiful, but I suffered, crossing without papers was very hard and the five thousand kilometers that I traveled I can say that I remember them one by one” (Meza). It was very sad to be hundreds of kilometers away from the land where Meza was born and sadder without his parents. When Meza moved to the United States he moved in with his brothers, but everything and everyone was new to him. It was hard for him to feel protected and secure with people he did not know very well and had not seen since he was a baby. The lack of familiarity was astonishing to Meza and even though half the time everything was awkward Meza managed to open his heart to his long-lost brothers.
