Analysis Of Abigail Adams Letter To John Quincy Adams
In 1780 Abigail Adams wrote her son John Quincy Adams while he was traveling overseas with his father. Within the letter, Abigail uses Pathos, Allusion,Metaphor and Imagery when she told John to travel with an open mind ,seek challenges,develop character and take all the opportunities that he comes across. Due to John’s father being a US Diplomat,Abigail thought this trip would be a great way for John to become a better man and overall a better individual. Adams uses pathos to express the importance of this trip and the opportunities that John can face.
Adams urges her son to be open-minded on this voyage and explains how pleased she is that he is going on this trip by the use of pathos. In the start of the letter, she starts off with a calm
