I choose this article, because anything regarding discrimination or mistreatment of others catches my attention! I find these readings intriguing, not at the slightest did I lose interest while reading. When Brent Staples, chronicled the events of his life throughout the reading was not only smart but well organized.

Brent Staples, also uses an example from the late 1970s, becoming petrified when his office manager had security guards manhandle him. The author said “I could only move briskly toward the company of someone who knew me”.

The article “Black Men and Public Places” is not bashing another individual with unpleasant grammar Brent Staples, simply gives his thoughts on past life experiences though they are unjust throughout the reading you will not get offended his writing is respectful for all people. Stated by the author “If I happen to be entering a building behind some people who appear skittish, I may walk by, letting them clear the lobby before I return, so as not to seem to be following them.” This situation could of went many other directions but Brent Staples, took the logical
