Freudian’s theories are usually portrayed in literature and not so much in psychological writings. Although there are still many adherents to a purely positivist and rationalist view, most people, including many who reject other elements of Freud's work, accept the claim that part of the mind is unconscious, and that people often act for reasons of which they are not conscious. The one think that comes to mind when one thinks to Freud is that he oversexualized many things in order to achieve his initial inquiry. But then again, how many great people have done wrong in order to make a right. An example, Phillip Zimbardo, he designed the “Stanford Prison Experiment” and it was something everything disagree with yet now he is one of the many psychologists in the world that has shaped how we think and do research. Mainly why it’s difficult to disagree with anything that Freud did. However, I was surprised to learn that psychoanalytic theory contributes to our music and culture. I always thought that psychoanalytic theory could be applied to other psychology disciplines like anxiety disorders such as phobias, panics attacks, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD);
