Analysis Of Criminal Minds
Criminal Minds is a crime drama TV show that has seen a good ratings and a huge, loyal fan-base. Despite of its huge performance and popularity, the show has one big problem, it still not been renewed for Season 12. Fans are now getting worried about the show’s current status, with some speculating about the show ending up with a cliffhanger.
Added to the fans’ confusion: With the Season 11 finale coming on May 4, why hasn’t this show been renewed yet?

The answer to this question has more to do with finances than anything else. The show is said to be one of the most expensive TV series and one of CBS’s popular shows. But Criminal Minds is not owned and produced by the network. CBS TV Studios together with partner ABC Studios have produced the said TV show.

The show has a huge presence internationally, and this is exactly what’s driving the CBS to dig more and get more profits from the show.

Simply put, CBS wants the lion’s share of those profits. Currently, the two companies are hammering a new licensing deal for Criminal Minds: Season 12 and reports said that it’s now on the works.

Harry Bing, co-producer of the said TV series, has confirmed this negotiation works in a tweet on March

There are many different types of murder shows. I have two that are my favorite shows to watch. Both are reality shows, because I lose interest quickly when it is not about things that are really happening. As you know the news never tells you everything about what happens. First 48 is the name of the first one. It focuses on the present murders and the detectives that work the crime scene. It is set in the first forty-eight hours after the crime has been committed. The second show, Cold Case Files is a show that focuses on old murder case, that have went on for years without being solved. They both deal in murders though differently. Both shows have the detectives, and they both give details the news would not release.…

First, most serial killers are often well educated. Hannibal Lecter in the movie “Silence of the Lambs” is a psychologist. Who would think that a psychologist could be a serial killer? Certainly not me! Lecter further asserts his intelligence and education when he accepts an interview hosted by Clarice and offers his own perspective on who might be committing the recent murders. His intelligent insight eventually leads to the capture of Buffalo Bill. In the movie “Mr. Brooks,” Earl Brooks is an intelligent, successful, and wealthy businessman. Although his educational credentials are not disclosed, I am almost certain that he possesses some sort of graduate business degree. This is depicted by his extensive knowledge of his business’ operations and, most importantly, the meticulous planning of his murders. Brooks further displays his intelligence when he flies to Palo Alto to commit a murder, involving an axe, similar to the one his daughter commits. This will exonerate his daughter as investigators will determine that the killer is still at large. It takes an exceptionally bright individual to think of something of this nature. In “Natural Born Celebrities: Serial Killers in American Culture,” Ted Bundy was a law student. Yet, he committed several murders mostly attributed to the pleasure he gained from watching others suffer.…

"Frasier" to CBS, Paramount's sister network, if NBC did not agree to a substantially higher license fee than the one it was currently paying. Both had competing interests and several factors were taken into consideration before the negotiations began. Paramount and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier), who the show was centered around, had personal interest. Both wanted a 3 year extension so that Kelsey could rank in history. Kelsey wanted to be an actor with having a 20 consecutive run in television for the record of longest‐running primetime television character in TV. Without Kelsey (Fraiser), Paramount and NBC would not have a series. NBC however, did not see Frasier has having an additional 3 years of life and did not want to invest in another 3 years. They also deemed Paramount’s price per episode as too high and wanted to minimize the loss of revenue.…

I would spend hours glued to my television, computer screen, and books trying to rack up my brain with information of unsolved murders, missing people cases, and serial killers. As shocking as many cases seemed, I couldn’t help but be fascinated. This lead me to be even more curious about the human mind, making me wonder how a human was capable of doing such horrific things. I wanted to know what could be the cause of it all, perhaps childhood trauma or mental illness. Nonetheless, I found looking at criminals from a psychological perspective incredibly interesting.…
