One Chinese company is planning to make a faster version of Elon Musk's Hyperloop that should reach speeds up to an estimated 2,485 miles per hour (Huang). This is a significant difference in speed compared to Elon Musk’s safer sounding 760 mph. Virgin Hyperloop One run by CEO Rob Lloyd, is another company that is striving to build a Hyperloop. Unlike the other companies, Virgin Hyperloop is focusing less on transporting humans, and more on transporting cargo. The company recently found a new chairman, Richard Branson, who is the founder of numerous other Virgin companies including airlines Virgin Atlantic and Virgin …show more content…
It would increase the efficiency of cargo delivery because of the decreased amount of time it takes to deliver cargo. The efficiency of the hyperloop would also make long range deliveries cheaper and more affordable for those delivery companies using the hyperloop system. The hyperloop would not just affect transportation companies and delivery companies, but also cities and small towns. The hyperloops energy efficiency would have a massive impact on the amount of air pollution due to the fact of more people using the hyperloop and less people commuting with busses and cars (Hunter-Hart). With the hyperloop’s ability to travel from D.C. to New York City, more people would be able to take jobs in cities helping the cities growth. The hyperloop would also bring places like the far spread out cities of the Texas Triangle. The cities within the hyperloops route would also be affected greatly because of the many people that would be coming through that town. This would increase the population and help that city or town grow faster. The Hyperloops use of being able to transport goods would also help boost the economic growth of smaller communities because of the easily accessed places by the Hyperloop, usually not accessible by other forms of
