Carver is a minimalist writer, which means his sentences are devoid of elaborate details, explanations, or descriptive passages. His style enhances his story because although there is a lack of detail, Carver finds ways to create a more personal mood for the story. Carver makes the reader feel like they are the daughter in the story and the story is being told to whomever is reading the passage. “Everything Stuck to Him” is portrayed in a conversation-like fashion in which the reader can feel like they are having a conversation with the storyteller.
