Iya: Personality is very strong; she likes to take charge of the group by dominating the answers, conversation and reading. She is a very intelligent child for 10, but at times she is challenging. She speaks in a clear tone of voice, but can revert to a baby tone of voice. This allows the group leader to see that there are two characters she is revealing. Her mother is very over protected of her wrong doings, so you have to talk to the father who is better at leveling things out. There are about twenty or more books spread across the glass coffee table. Each person picks one to read a chapter. Then the girls analyze the story, pictures and characters of the book they read. The children range in ages 5-10 and are all girls. There is one adult that administrator the activities and group discussions. Everyone’s behaviors are respectful and kind of each other. There are four girls that meet every Friday, after school. The program is designed to help enhance their reading and comprehension abilities so that they can become better achievers in the future from understanding and communication. It is a free program; however, the girls are responsible for paying a five dollar in dues each time they meet. This helps to cover the charge of snacks.
