Reading how Jackie’s mother got deported is truly heartbreaking, she lost her mother around December 16th, 2008. After six months went by, Jackie was reunited with her mother, seeing her in jail every sunday. Jackie had to sacrifice mostly everything just to see her mother for a few hours, that is love reading this really put me in perspective that having parents that are immigrants you could lose them at any given moment. The government told Lupita that she had to meet with authorities once a year. Since she is an immigrant a lot of laws and regulations are needed if she wants to stay here, there is more for other immigrants or some that are the same.

It is an amazing story, telling the readers how hard it can be to lose a parent at a young age.
