Analysis Of Ketterdam By Kaz Breeker
This book was possibly the best book I have ever read. Let’s start with out with the characters. These characters were very descriptive and interesting. Kaz Breeker was the main character; he was the leader of the dregs. With his character, he was a well-developed character from the beginning, but his character developed even more through-out the story. He was strong, but you also saw his weak spots, mental breakdowns, dealing with a never healed broken leg, and lash outs. He was someone you were scared of, but you would become best friends with him. He was like fire and ice at the same time. Now the setting, this is a fantasy book so it does not take place anywhere we know. Most of the story takes place in Ketterdam. Ketterdam is a city on

So far we've met: Guy Montag, His wife Mildred Montag, Clarisse McClellan, Captain Beatty, and the Mechanical Hound. Guy Montag is the man the story follows, he is an unhappy 30 year old man who has been a fireman for ten years. Mildred seems very vacant and is obsessed with her television shows, which for the record, I feel are helping her avoid the pain of her emptiness or sadness. Clarisse McClellan is a very interesting character because of the way she thinks. She has her own ideas and are very different from anyone else's. Clarisse helps Montag realize his unhappiness in life and introduces him to some of her unique thoughts. Captain Beatty is the antagonist. He is pretty smart for a man who dislikes the existence of books if you ask me. During the story, it seems as if he can tell what Guy is thinking, maybe that is contributing to something I just can't seem to agree with myself on what it is. The mechanical hound is basically this 8 legged killing machine. It is…

This book is a must read because it has a very personal account. It makes you feel like you are really there. Her writing is truly heartfelt. She tells about how she felt and how she felt that other people felt. She connects everything that she talks about with how she feeling about it, by showing her reaction in her writing. In her book she states that she went to school in the face of competition from governor Orval Faubus and the state National Guard, she shows how she felt about it while she goes on talking about the events.…

My opinion that this book was a little sad because Kevin (also known as Freak) had a disease that made him stop growing at three feet so he had to wear metal leg braces and crutches. Also in the beginning Max was a bully because in the beginning of the story Max was called Kicker because whoever touched him Max will hurt that person by punching and kicking him/her. The book also talks a lot about friendship and trust because when Freak and Max first saw each it was only for one afternoon and that afternoon they barely talked to each other but once years have passed, some how Freak moved next to Max’s emptied neighbors house (the only reason the house was empty because the old neighbor was still in jail) So after Freak got out…

3.I like the main characters of my novel because all the main characters are the ones who went to the Carving (Mountains) to escape the society and find the rebellion group.I also like how Cassia and Ky take the risk of going out to the Carving knowing that they might be dead or their safe somewhere I can find each other at.They would be my friends because they are very adventurous and they take risks and don't leave their friends behind. When Cassia thinks about leaving the camp she makes up her mind quick because she wants to find Ky but if she thinks long about it she might want to go back to the society.’’If I'm going to run to find Ky,it has to be soon’’, Says Cassia as she thinks about leaving the camp. ‘’Am I going to run? I've thought…

The first idea that I would like to present is the concept of overexploitation. Kolbert first introduced this topic when she was discussing about the auk, or Pinguinus impennis. First, she explained that the auk was a large flightless bird that lived in the Northern Hemisphere. As time went on, the birds ranged from “Norway to Newfoundland and from Italy to Florida,” (58). As the chapter progresses, the emphasis was taken away from the bird and it was pointed toward the use of the bird. As the first settlers arrived in Iceland from Scandinavia, the great auks were very common as they were featured in the dinners of these immigrants. However, the popularity of the great auk’s kept increasing and different countries wanted the bird for there…

I believe that there were several different things that were contributing factors to why Kipland Kinkel killed both his parents, and later two of his fellow peers. I do not think that there is one specific thing that can be blamed for Kip's behavior, but multiple things worked together to cause Kip's explosion.…

I selected this book because I was thinking that it would keep me entertained and make it so that I will not fall asleep. This was one of those books that it did not matter about what happened before it you can just start reading it from the start, so before the book began I have now idea what happened I just started to read the book and I liked it. When the book begins it starts out with ender and his brother and sister and his brother is mean and is always threatening his younger brother ender and his younger sister. In this story it is the narrator that is telling it. The setting was important because it was at Enders house at first and his older brother, bulling hem, which made ender stronger and made it so that he would look out for himself. In the beginning the author held my interest because the government shipped ender off to military school at age three.…

There are some appealing traits to the plot of the book, the settings and the characters. Some of the interesting traits about the characters is the way they’re all trying to be tough. The character Jamal Hicks is the main character, his brother went to jail and left him man of the house. Jamal is now trying to bail his brother out of jail, so joins the gang his brother use to work with to make money. Jamal has a best friend named Tito, and Tito is willing to follow Jamal through the most dangerous adventures of his life. Tito is really scared but he always finds the courage to be there for his best friend. “You can go I don’t …” (page 37). In this quote Tito is passed his curfew and wants to go home but he decides to stay and with Jamal. The setting of the story is in an old ghetto town in Chicago where everyone is trying to survive and most of the kids are involved in gangs. The good thing about the plot is that is placed in a way that cuts straight to the point of the story.…

I found the book to be easy, exciting reading because the story line was very realistic and easily relatable. This book flowed for me to a point when, at times, it was difficult to put down. Several scenes pleasantly caught me off guard and some were extremely hilarious, namely, the visit to Martha Oldcrow. I found myself really fond of the characters, especially Harlen Bigbear. Harlen came across as a sort of ‘trickster', but a likable one. He was gentle, caring, and harmless in his own right. Will, the protagonist, was very likable as well. However, his character only evolved for me as a result of Harlen's unconditional and relentless friendship with him. In short, Will's character would've lacked without the likeness of a Harlen Bigbear. The character naming was also very ingenious. The Oldpersons, Prettywomans, baby South Wing, and others…

I would rate this book 3.5 stars out of 5. The lack of establishing conflicts throughout the novel was disappointing. However, I would still recommend this novel to others as it covers a very important issue and teaches readers what it feels like to be in the shoes of a refugee. Do not expect an incredibly exciting or sad story, because that is not what The Bone Sparrow…
