Analysis Of Male Community Re-Entry Program

Part A. Introduction

In the lesson of Penology, I got opportunities to explore the rehabilitation programs provided by the Correctional Service Department in Hong Kong. Hence, I think it will be interesting and relevant to know the situation of other side of the earth. As a result, I make up my mind to examine the ways of rehabilitation taken in California, USA. In the following paragraphs, I will introduce the Division of Rehabilitative Programs (DRP) , the rehabilitation process , two specific In-Prison Services and Community Reentry Services it provides and how the inmates of the State of California think these programs transform them into people with better jobs ,career skills ,education ,life skills and confidence. The information are based on my research on the official websites, videos, information face sheets provided by DRP
The purpose of implementing the MCRP is to support inmates to succeed in the re-entry into the society with sufficient time and resources .

MCRP provides a welcoming and secure platform for participants to be assisted and concentrate in obtaining their personal documents ,carry on with their rehabilitative treatment, granted chances for education ,training as well as certificate and acquire useful jobs. MCRP serves as an opening for inmates to start the new page and gradually prepared them with relevant qualities to reintegrate to the community.
