Analysis Of My Practicum Placement
The school’s philosophy are with reference to the Early Years Foundation Stage (2014), “every child is unique who learns to be strong and independent through positive relationships, develops well in enabling environment with their peers/classmates in which their experiences are respond to their individual needs, they are all different in their own ways and at different rates”(p.6). Basically, my practicum placement focuses on every child whether it is children with learning difficulties or special needs, they do not segregate the uniqueness of an individual child. They believe that every child has the ability to interpret their own play.

The role of the practitioner in supporting the learning needs of children is they have to do regular assessments on their development and learning to identify their progress and plan their next steps Beaver, et .al, (2008). The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), (2008) states that the role of the practitioner is crucial in observing and reflecting on children’s spontaneous play, building on this by planning and providing a challenging environment which supports specific areas of children’s learning and extends and develops children’s language and communication in their play. As early years practitioners there are principles and values that we must meet in order to carry out our job to the best if our ability. They were designed to provide a basis for work with the children in a range of settings and services. They meet the needs and rights of the child and reflect a rapidly developing sector that places the child at the centre. These principles should underpin all our work with children.…

This assignment will look to critically evaluate how a school in which I am currently on placement meets the holistic needs of the children in their care. In order to protect the schools identity they will be known as School A. I will look to evaluate how the schools ethos is put into practice in everyday teaching and learning, and how this benefits/disadvantages the pupils. Due to the limited allotted word count for this assignment I am unable to describe in depth how the school meets the holistic needs of every child in attendance, therefore I will look at one group of children in particular who will be known as Group X. I am also unable to look in depth at all of the holistic needs and instead will focus on the intellectual and social needs.…

In an early years setting, it is essential that a practitioner supports the children’s play, learning and development because this will then enable certain learning goals to be achieved in relation to the early year’s foundation stage framework for development. These learning goals that the practitioner will help to support the children develop will have an overall effect on how they are able to learn and behave later in life. Also, by the practitioner helping to support each child, any disabilities (physical or mental) will be noticed and supported much earlier on in the child’s life which will make things easier for them as they will have a stronger support system put in place.…

Every child is unique and different. We will never encounter two children exactly the same. They have physical, emotional, and cultural differences. In a “normal” family these differences are things like blonde hair and blue eyes compared to brown hair and green eyes. There may be one child that is laid back and another that cries bloody murder at the very thought of a paper cut. In this profile of a disabled student the differences that I encountered were much more diverse than that. I will talk about the physical, emotional and cognitive, and socio-emotional development of the student. I will also talk about the things that I found out while in the classroom.…

I believe that each child, infant, toddler and older, are each unique and has the potential to leave their own mark on the world. My philosophy would be to provide a stimulating atmosphere in which infants and toddlers can grow and mature in many areas including emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually while in a safe environment. This environment will not only be safe, it will allow children’s curiosity to direct their learning, promote respect for things and people, and help the teacher guide the children.…

All children have the rights to access the fully access of the curriculum. All children have right to: stay safe, be healthy, enjoy and achieve, economic well being and positive contribution as is stated in Every Child Matters. Also as every child is unique – in all sectors of education should be focus on personalised learning. Inclusion, SEN and equal opportunities policies are a legal requirement for settings and they should clearly state how the provision ensures that all children and their individual needs are catered for. The main points are that: all children have right to play and learn together, they should not be discriminated against for any reason (culture, religion, disabilities, background),children do better in inclusive settings, both academically and socially, children should not need to be separated to achieve, children should be involved and integrated with all of their peers. Every child with special needs should have an individual education plan and the setting should work in partnership with parents and other agencies involved for the benefits of the child. Pre-school settings should state their commitment to ensuring that diversity is reflected and valued within the provision and the…
